It was Friday by now and we were all sitting at the cafeteria eating our lunch, Hailey was eating a big tuna sandwich that she was sharing with Zac while I was eating an apple. I have to admit this, I have a thing for apples. I just love them so much, but I'm not talking about the red ones nor the green ones, I'm talking about the ones that are just in between.. The ones that are red but have green or maybe they are green and have red? I don't know. I probably sound all weirdo and everything trying to explain this but believe me, if you felt they way I do about them, you'll be doing the same thing.

Right now we were, well mostly they were, talking about a party from a friend of Zac's called Jack? Something like that. I wasn't really planning on going because the thing is this won't be a friendly gathering like Zac's, this will be a party on full mode, drunk people, red cups, couples kissing everywhere and the music that makes your head and your ears hurt.

I'm totally sure they don't need me there. They'll be with their friends while I'll be all alone in a corner just like in Zac's house when I met James. Now that I am thinking about him, he never replied to that text yesterday, what the hell? He was the one texting me first, he should have answered me but I won't be worrying about him today. I have to come up with an excuse that they'll believe because there's no way I'll be going to that party.

I have way too much homework? Noup, there's no homework today and Hailey knows that. My parents aren't home? What? They are never home idiot. What if I tell them I'm grounded? But why? Oh yeah, mom asked me to clean the kitchen yesterday an I totally forgot because they were there and after that I just took a shower and went to sleep. Yup, that sounds like it.

"So guys are you going to the party?" I asked them when we were walking to our respective classrooms.

"Yes! I definitely am! I wouldn't miss it for the world!" Hailey answered.

"Yeah me neither! It's the first party of the year! It's gonna be sick! Are you coming Melanie?" Zac asked me. Time to lie.. Here we go.

"Noo, I can't" I pouted "I wish I could though, it sounds like lots of fun!" I told them waiting for the inevitable question.

"Why?" They asked at the same time.

"Well yesterday morning my mother left a note telling me she wanted for me to clean the kitchen and I completely forgot. You guys came home after school, then we cooked and at the end of the night it was all a mess and I just left it there so she decided it was a good punishment to ground me on a Friday night" I was out of breath at the end of my story.

Zac made a weird sound with his mouth muttering "what a shame" under his breath and left for class while Hailey whined and told me how much she will miss there but she never tried to convince me to go. Well, I guess that was easier than what I thought it would be.

--------------------------------

On my way home I was mentally preparing myself for one of the most boring weekends I'll ever have. You see, my parents were out for the weekend to our beach house and, like I predicted, I was left all alone. In my house. By myself.

When I finally arrived I took off my shoes and dropped my backpack on the floor by the door, my parents aren't here to tell me to pick it up so.. yeah I'm such a badass. I grabbed a glass of water and headed to my room to take a nap, but the so called nap never arrived and that left a lot of time for me to overanalyze today's actions. Which wasn't cool by the way.

I started thinking that maybe going to the party wasn't such a bad idea but quickly tossed that thought away, it would have been a terrible idea. I even cooked cupcakes, and that means that I was really really bored because I hate cooking cupcakes, they are ten times more difficult to cook than brownies.

After watching re-runs of friends and eating half of my cupcakes I decided on starting Grey's Anatomy, I heard some girls at my Spanish class talking about how great it was and well, I guess it's time to see if they were right.

And they were right.

Time flew by and soon it was 10 PM. I decided on making myself some dinner. I descended the stairs like if I was a princess greeting the citizens of her town, don't judge me ok? If you were on my bored situation you would've done something similar, if not the same.

In the kitchen I decided on doing some mac & cheese. I just LOVE mac & cheese, there is something in the way the cheese melts on top of the macaroni that it makes all the time you spend making them, which isn't that much, worth it. When I finished I left them on the oven for them to cool off while I took a bath and changed on my most comfortable PJ's.

By the time I was finished it was 11 o'clock so my mac & cheese were actually pretty cold, I put them on a bowl, got a glass of water and headed upstairs again to the beautiful cave I called my room.

I was just settling down to start another episode of Grey's Anatomy when I heard something.

It sounded like when the girls from school hit the desks with their pens. *plack**plack*

I ignored it and put my headphones on full volume, I mean I was home alone. What else was I supposed to do? Go out and see who's there? I'm not from the Pretty Little Liars cast. No thanks, I'll pass.

But then the stupid sound started getting louder and louder until it was hard to ignore. By this point I was definitely sure someone was either trying, or had gotten inside my house. I panicked as soon as this thought crossed my mind, I stood up from bed so fast I almost dropped the mac & cheese, then I left it on the night table and started looking for the sound.

It took me a while to figure out that the sound was coming from the outside of my house and not from the inside, actually the sound was coming from my window.. Like if someone was throwing rocks to my window? I finally had the courage to peek through it and saw a mop of curls trying to stay on his feet. This told me that he was Harry and also that he was drunk. When he saw me he shouted "Mel? Mel are you there?" Of course I'm here and he knows that, he saw me not even two seconds ago. He is going to wake up the whole neighborhood if he keeps yelling like that.

Well Melanie do what you hate the most. Think. Harry is outside your house drunk as hell and you have no other choice than to open your door and let him in because if not, the neighboors will definitely hate him AND they'll also hate you because of him. Oh God why did you put me in the middle of this situation?

"Open the door Melanie, I can see you up there. Hey there are two Melanies!!" he slurred and giggled at the end of it. "Hi there Melanies!" He kept giggling at this. Ugh. Now I have to open the door to a drunk Harry. This should be fun.

I ran all the way to the door and opened it as quickly as I could and walked out to shush him.

"Shut up Harry!"

"I'll.. shut up when.. you.. And where is the other Melanie?" I only heard pieces of his first statement because he just slurred the words. He had this confused face on his face when he asked the question. He looked so cute. You should be mad at him. True.

"There is just one woman idiot. What are you doing here in the first place?" I had my arms crossed over my chest as I waited impatiently for an answer.

"I forgot my keys" Unbelievable. He did all this show because he forgot his keys? Really?

"And you couldn't have just knocked at your door?" I gave him the best "you are so stupid" look I had.

"My parents aren't home sassypants" Yeah, I completely forgot. Our parents go together to the beach house every year, it's like a habit they have. Like I said before, our mother's are best friends and on clue our father's too. "Can I come in?" He asked impatiently. I can tell that he was tired just by looking at his eyes.

I nodded and turned around to get inside but he cleared his throat, of course he was "so drunk" I had to help him get in. Yeah right. When we were inside I dropped him on the couch and went to get him a glass of water and when I returned he was lying on the couch with his feet sticking out of it.

"Do you have a headache or something?" He just nodded "Well, I'll better leave you to rest then" I turned around, desperate to get out of there.

When I was about to take the first step up the stairs I heard him mutter "No, please stay".

And that it's just what I did.
