Monday morning:
Rachel's POV:
I woke up extra early this morning! I could hardly sleep, I am way to excited to see Finn today. It's nearing 7:15 which is the time he normally arrives, so I sit down on the bench in the mud room and pull on a pair of boots. I guess I started to day dream because the next thing I know, the doorbell is ringing and I don't have my left boot on yet. I quickly zipped it up and flew up from the cold wooden bench and skipped to the door, almost tripping over the edge.
"Hey Finn!" I yelled, I didn't want to scare him away with my excitement, but I don't think I can hide it.
"Hi, Rach!" I guess I'm not the only one who is excited, I think Finn might have yelled louder than me. I can't help but smile. I love it when he calls me Rach and I love it even more now that I'm only his Rach. He caught me off guard by kissing my cheek gently.
"You ready to go?" he questioned. I totally forgot about school and shyly nodded. He took my hand and walks me to his car and helps me into it since I am so short.
"Thanks," I smile, I don't know why I am acting nervous, but I am and I think he can tell.
The drive was an awkward silence and I absolutely hated that it was. I didn't think this dating thing would ruin our friendship. I mean Finn and I used to be able to talk about anything, literally. If you put Finn and me in a room filled with nothing but the topic of socks, we could talk about it for hours. At least we were able to.
When we arrived at the school, Finn came around to my side and opened my door. I can't help but smile. I noticed some weird looks when he interlocked our fingers. Everyone at Mckinley knows we are the best of friends, but I guess no one thought we could be more. Should that worry me?
