Rachel's POV:

I've been so hurt by Finn recently. I don't understand him and his ways.  What I'm mostly concerned about is homecoming in one week. I haven't been asked ever because Finn and I would go together, but now I'm not sure if we are even friends. Plus he wouldn't take me considering he is dating a girl that he claims to "love". Whatever, I'll figure something out.

I've been thinking about this the whole time while I was driving to school that time flew by. I parked my car in the front slot, (since I am there very early) and grabbed my pink backpack and walked up to the school. I passed the jocks throwing some "nerd" into the dumpster when I realized one of the jocks was Finn! What the heck is he doing?! He never did that before because of me being a "nerd". I was furious. I walked up to them and started yelling at them to put the kid down.

"What do you think you're doing?!" I question their stupidity.

"Look Berry, you're hot and all but you're still a nerd," I saw Finn flinch when Puck called me hot," But you let another nerd get away, and for that you shall be slushied." Out of no where I was hit by a grape slushy that someone handed him.  Once again, I was alone. I looked at Finn, who had a remorseful face and quickly walked away with my head down. I couldn't see but I bumped into someone.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry miss.." I looked up at this really cute blonde.

"Rachel, Rachel Berry. And don't be sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going," I reply. I felt bad for getting my slushy-ness on him. "What's your name?"

"Sam Evans, and you look like you could use some help," he took my hand in his and led me to the bathroom and helped clean me off.

"So are you new here?" I ask him, wondering where this cute boy came from.

"Yeah, today is my first day. I moved here from Kentucky," He said with a smile.

"That's cool. I've never been there, haha," I said stupidly.

"That's okay, it's not that great of a place," he returned an answer while he finished drying my hair.

"So I know we just met and all but I was wondering if you wanted to go to homecoming? You're the only person that I've met in this school, it's okay if you don't want to or can't I totally under,"

"Yeah! I think that would be like really fun!" I say interrupting him. "Sorry," I say realizing what I just did. We both laugh then exchange numbers.

"I'll see you around Rachel," he says while we walk down the hall.

"You too!" I say. I couldn't stop smiling. This is the first time I've felt good since what happened with Finn.

I then hurry to class since the bell was about to ring. I sit down in my original seat. I then see Finn come in. I have no idea where Quinn is but he sat down next to me.

"Who was that guy you were walking with?" he asks me with jealousy in his voice.

"Oh, him. That's Sam," I say. I'm not gonna lie, telling Finn about Sam made me feel good.

"What were you talking about?" he questions truthfully.

"Well he just moved here, so we introduced ourselves then he asked me to homecoming," I told him.

Finn's face dropped, then he whispered, "I thought we were going to homecoming?"

"Finn, you broke up with me and are in a relationship with a girl who you love, obviously you would take her," I retorted and started to pay attention to what the teacher was saying.
