Best Friends

Untitled Part 15

Rachel's POV:

I arrived at the auditorium and just walked in through the little hallway. There I saw it. Finn, my boyfriend, kissing Quinn. I tried not to make a sound, but I gasped a little as a tear built up in my eye. That was probably my mistake, because as soon as I did that, I heard Finn say "fireworks" that was it for me, the sobs came out and he turned and saw me.  I don't know if I ever ran so fast back to the cafeteria. I grabbed my book bag and headed to my next class 15 minutes early.  Finn kept texting and calling me but I wouldn't pick up.  I can't believe he would cheat on me.  I thought he was my best friend, not only that but my boyfriend.  We promised we would never hurt each other and I knew dating would be a bad idea.

Right now I'm just sitting in the back of the science room with my 'song' notebook out.  Finn's the only one who has ever seen it, and right now I am wishing I never showed it to him. I hear the door creak and a tall figure appear. Finn.

Finn's POV:

As soon as I saw Rachel my heart was flooded with guilt. I can't believe I let Quinn seduce me into kissing her, especially since she knows I'm with Rach right now.  But now I am thinking back to this morning about what Azimio said. I think he's right.  I probably shouldn't be dating Rachel.  

I called her and texted her a thousand times but she never answered me. I looked all over but no one seemed to know where she was.  I finally gave up and headed to my next class which I had with Rachel. Hopefully, she will show up there and we can talk.

I walk into the room and I see her.  She's sitting in the dark corner with her special song notebook out.  I remember the day she showed it to me. 

FLASHBACK.

"Finn give me back my bag!" Rachel yelled laughing.

"NO! Let me do a 'what's in my bag video' " I said laughing as well and proceeded taking things out.

"First we have a wallet with a driver's license, super important for when we go out driving and people think I'm 12," I said while she hit my shoulder.  "a notebook? that reads 'Rachel's Songs'" That's when she actually started attacking me.

END OF FLASHBACK

Since I pulled the 'best friends tell each other everything' card she end up showing me. 

She must've heard the door creek because she stuffed her notebook into her bag and snapped her head to look at me. I could see the remnants of some tears and I felt horrible.

I walked up and sat by her. "Look Rach, I know you saw what happened and I am so sorry about that. I know it hasn't even been that long since we started dating but Azimio was talking today and I need to stay on top Rach.  Maybe this dating thing was a bad idea.  How about we go back to being friends," I couldn't believe I was saying that.  I've liked her for forever and after a few days I'm dumping her for some brat like Quinn? I can see the pain in her eyes but then it turns to emptyness as she speaks up.

"I have a better idea, how about we pretend we never met each other," I can't believe what I'm hearing.  Not only am I losing an awesome relationship but I'm losing my best friend.  With that she got up and walked away.

"Rachel, where are you going? We have class!" I yell while she's walking out the door.

"Not today," is simply all she said.
