Best Friends

Untitled Part 16

Rachel's POV:

That was it. I just left him there and walked out of the school.  I'm so hurt that I don't think I even care anymore. I even texted Quinn telling her congratulations. I'm not sure where I am even headed. I'm scared if I go home Finn will try and come find me, but I don't know where else I would go.  I decided I was just gonna drive around and find some secluded space.

Lima, Ohio isn't very big, about 13 square miles, so I decided to look around on the outskirts.  I park my car on the side of the road and start heading into the forest.  I used to be scared being out in the wild alone, but since my dads are never in town anymore, it feels good to leave the house and feel like an abandoned child in the woods, kinda like Tarzan. But he had friends and a wife who loved him, and now I am here all alone.  I didn't walk that far into the woods, about five minutes or so and I found this cute little pond area. It had a stream coming from who knows where and a big rock that looked like it could hold a couple people. I decided I liked this place.

I lost track of time writing in my song notebook and was interrupted by my phone going off. It was Kurt. We're not that great of friends so I was kind of surprised to be getting his call. I answered it anyways.

"Hey! Rachel! Umm I heard about what happened with you and my brother and I am sorry. I was wondering if maybe you would want to go and get ice cream and we can eat our feelings away," he chuckled softly. I smiled, it might be good to have more friends since my best friend broke my heart. "Anyways, you can come to my house and we could leave from here, if you want?"

"Sure, thanks Kurt, it hasn't hit me all yet but it will be nice to have a friend.  I'll be there in ten," we said our goodbyes and I walked back to my car.

I think I'm gonna like these changes in my life.
