Chapter 5

When we finished breakfast, Rehana, grabbed me hand and pulled me up from the chair.

“Come on, it’s time for your training,” she all but yelled excitedly while jumping up and down on the spot. I stared at her confused. “What do you mean training?” I asked perplexed. Just then Damon spoke,

“You are now a vampire and you need to know how to defend yourself, so…….. We are all going to train you!” He said. Train me….WAIT! Did he just say I was a vampire!

“What do you mean, I’m a vampire!?!?!?!” I shouted at him. They all just looked at me and then burst out laughing. “Well I changed you the first night we met,” He said sheepishly.

“But why don’t I feel any different?” I asked.

“Because the change takes three days to run its course, right now if you feel along your canine teeth you will see that they are a little sharper, the change will be over tomorrow and, tonight when you sleep the change will have run its full course and voile! You are a vampire.” He said and I stared at him dumbfounded. Then I ran my tongue along my canine teeth and felt a little prick and tasted the metallic taste of blood. “HOLY CRAP! You are telling the truth,” I shouted.

Then I felt Rehana’s comforting arms around me, “Don’t worry, it won’t be that bad, there is nothing that you can’t do as a vampire that you can’t do as a human, plus we vampires can do so much more!” She said and hugged me. I felt slightly better. “Ok, well not that this isn’t interesting and all cause’ it really is and please feel free to note the sarcasm….Let’s get training!” Drew said and everyone in the room except for Damon and I ran out of the room.

“So…you want to talk about what happened last night?” He asked. I looked down remembering my break down.

“Fine… I was crying because...I miss my village, I miss my friends and I miss my parents,” I said still looking down. I felt him tilt my chin up and I looked up to meet silver eyes. “I truly am sorry but as crazy as this sound must sound… I love you and I am not going to let you go and I know you don’t love me yet but in time maybe you will…for now lets just start as friends,” he said and I remembered last night and his kisses.

“How about we skip friends and just settle at like, nothing too strong as love yet…Ok,” I said. He smiled and replied, “So…does this mean I am your boyfriend?” I laughed, “Maybe, but first you need to prove it by taking me on a date or something,” I said. “Ok,” He said then started to kiss me and just when we were getting into it, we heard Rehana’s voice, “Hey! Let’s go it’s time to train you can suck each other’s faces of later,” she said and we broke apart blushing and she laughed at us.

“I know you can’t help yourselves but gosh! A least have a little more self control,” she said still laughing.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah let’s just go,” Damon said. We walked out of the room through a maze of hallways and a flight of stairs leading down until we stopped by a door. When Rehana opened it I peered inside to see everyone in there. It was a brown room with a rack to the side and hung on the rack were assorted weapons like swords, hammers, battle axes, sling shots etc. and of to another side there was a bunch of armor for women and men.

Then Talia stepped forward. “Since I’m a witch I will try and figure out your special ability or abilities,” she said.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Every royal vampire has a special ability or in some cases special abilities and since you were changed by a royal you too will have special abilities or an ability,” Rehana explained and Talia nodded her head, took my hands and closed her eyes. I think she was trying to figure out mine.

“So do vampires other than royals have special abilities?” I asked. “Yes but not all only some,” Chad answered. I looked at Damon and Rehana.

“What are your abilities?” I asked.

“I can torture you mentally and physically and cut of all of your defenses leaving you totally defenseless,” Rehana said.

“I can burn you to ashes where you stand and I can read minds... though I can’t read yours which Is very weird,” He said and I felt relieved.

“Those are some cool powers,” I said. Just then Talia opened her eyes with an awestruck expression. “Wow” she breathed.

I looked at Damon and he had the same expression on his face, “Amazing,” he said.

“Please feel free to share what has got you so amazed,” Abigail said.

“Her ability is – “ Talia began.
