A/N: Tell me what you think! c: xx
Winter was by far my favorite time of year. Not only were the fashion trends the best and the food was godly, but the all over feeling of winter was just comforting. The holidays were just all about family, even though mine was average it was nice to be around familiar faces and as I said, food.
The setting was as if I was sitting inside a snow globe. I sat by the crackling fire place and watched water drip from icicles atop the lodge. I slipped off my soaking wet socks and set them along side my jacket, hoping to dry them off before Maddox came to fetch me for round two. Taking a long sip of my hot drink I continued to stare out the large windows. People bobbed up and down along the ski slopes. Some shot down the slopes at dangerous speeds and others were led by their parents or instructors. All of them enjoying the winter festivities.
"Corinne," Maddox called as he entered the ski lodge with his goggles on his helmet. He had his full gear on like he had just skied into the room. I was quite surprised he didn't just keep his skis on. I growled as he came up behind me and rested his freezing hands on my neck. I shrugged him off and he sat beside me on the fireplace ledge. "Come on, we've got 2 more hours left," he insisted.
I huffed and pulled my jacket hood over my eyes in agony, laying back in his lap. He pulled the hood from my hands and lifted it from my face. My bangs shaded my eyes until he brushed them back with his somewhat warmer hand. "I'm tired," I answered, frowning.
He took a sip of my drink. "But this is my birthday gift," he concluded, picking up my socks and kneeling in front of me to place them on for me.
I furrowed my brows. "Your birthday was 3 months ago," I affirmed, moving my foot from his reach.
He took my other foot in his hand, firmly and pulled the sock up my foot. "But this is my late present," he decided, grabbing my other foot from under my thigh.
I rolled my eyes. "I got you a new watch and a gift card. You got presents," I concluded, crossing my arms. He grabbed my ski boots and sat back down in front of me, smiling as he clipped the boots back to my feet.
He sat up on his knees once he was finished and leaned close to me. I pulled away as he tried to kiss me. "Come on babe," he pleaded, a frown on his lips. I turned my head to the side and he sighed, standing up. He held his hands out for me to grab. I stood up slowly without his assistance, putting my helmet back on.

"Ow, Maddox," I whined, as he rolled my ankle to the side. I sucked in some breath through my teeth as he put his arms under my legs and lifted me. The snow crunched under his boots as he padded over to the lodge doors. I fell directly in front of where all the people were, fantastic. I wiped my eyes, turning my face to Maddox's chest. He set me on a stool at the bar.
"Can I get a bag filled with some ice or do you guys have like some ice packs?" he questioned the bar tender, while I composed my tears and propped my foot up on the stool next to me.
The bar tender handed him a bag and he slipped off my boot, keeping the sock on. He held the ice on it as he looked to me. "Does this help?" he asked softly. I nodded.
I had probably just rolled it, the ice worked quickly to numb away the ache and I smiled at him. "I don't want to ruin your day Mad," I swooned. "Go on without me. I'll be fine here," I proposed.
He shook his head, squinting up at me after a pause. "Are you sure?" he questioned. I nodded, shooing him away.
"Have fun," I demanded. He grabbed his helmet and kissed my cheek.
