I rushed back into my bedroom, carefully avoiding Hakyeon and his guests as he saw them outside. I wondered what had kept them locked up for so long, but I had business to attend to.
Getting into comfortable clothes again, I got under the covers of my bed, anxious about what I might find.
The book was filled with weird drawings, most of it I couldn't make out because the pages were so faded and worn out. Most of the content explained various types of taboo and spells, things I never thought I'd find myself believing in. It was all very surreal. I flipped through the ragged pages until something very peculiar caught my eye.
"The art of devination" I whispered, squinting at the heading. The picture provided was of a woman, her legs and chest covered in stone and put on display.
The chambers.
This must be it. I felt my nerves increase as the book basically described how witches cast spells on those who they adored, and wanted to keep them as a trophy of some sort. A witch fell in love with a man, a man who didn't want anything to do with her. She cast the spell of devination upon him and he turned into a perfect marble statue, for her to marvel at whenever she pleased. But a love one sided couldn't go on and the spell developed a loop hole, bringing the man to life every night at the strike of 12.
I felt myself freeze up at how similar this all started to sound. But could this be Hakyeon's reason as well, or was he just out to seek perfect mannequins for his creations.
The man was indifferent to the woman. His emotions became vacant and he acted as a puppet, an empty vessel. This angered the witch. How could a love blossom when he was barely alive?
The witch broke the curse by putting her DNA and the man's in the Sands of time, restoring the man back to his original state. Only a strand of hair or a vile of blood from the one who had set the curse will be able to break it, or else consequences will arise.
"Well that was a lovely story" I groaned, shutting the book and placing it safely behind my headboard. How do I pull out the hair of a man who poisoned me and keeps me captive in this hell hole. There had to be an easier way, there had to be.
-------
Groaning at the sound of my alarm I tossed in my bed, not being able to get enough sleep after last night. My eyes felt heavy and my skin still cold from the chilling revelation of the curse.
I got ready for the new day, slipping on my awful attire and made my way to the dining hall to serve my boss.
I stepped into the grand hall, and there he was, right on cue, getting seated at the table waiting for me to attend to him.
"Ah (y/n) wonderful day isn't it?" he chimed as I poured him a cup of coffee and prepared his utensils for breakfast.
My mind could only focus on the fact that I needed a strand of his hair. That, and the code for the chamber room. How would I save them let alone enter that damn room.
I gritted my teeth as I felt his cold hand brush the back of my knee as he took a sip of his coffee. "Hmmm lovely" he smirked, getting on my last nerve.
"So am I still forbidden from the chamber room master?" I asked sweetly, trying to use my loyalty as gameplay.
Hakyeon sighed and gestured for me to take a seat next to him. I obeyed his orders and put on my most innocent act I could possibly give out.
"I'll allow you to go in there, but not after 12, and not without my company" he smiled, taking my hand in his.
"Can we go now?" I asked biting down on my lip, "I'm still a fashion major and still quite interested."
"Are you now?" Hakyeon quizzed, raising his eyebrows as a smirk developed on his face, "Well let's go then."
I felt butterflies in my stomach as Hakyeon approached the door and punched in the code, shielding me from his view. I had to get him in a vulnerable position before we left, so I could get the code.
The room lit up and I was surprised to see each guy in a different attire from before, as well as the sound of soft music in the background.
"Wow the music really makes it seem like it's a gallery" I murmured, standing in front of Hyuk's chamber.
"But it is a gallery my dear, don't you see the artwork in front of you" Hakyeon sang, caressing the glass in front of him.
"They're also alive master"
"Yes, but everything created is a piece of art, whether it be from material, or a living organism" Hakyeon replied, wrapping his arm around my waist.
I swallowed hard and turned to face him. My sudden movement startled him as I studied his face, his dark eyes taking me in.
"I would be honored if you taught me more, master" I cooed, wrapping my arms around his neck and moved my face to his.
Hakyeon knitted his eyebrows together as he analysed my intentions. But knowing the kind of person he was, this kind of offer wasn't about to be passed up.
"You are indeed something else Ms (y/n)" he said in a low voice, bringing his lips to my jaw.
"I'm just trying to please my boss" I smirked, pressing my lips against his.
Hakyeon immediately responded, by wrapping his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. I could almost taste how desperate his kisses were becoming. His lips overpowered mine, slipping his tongue into my mouth as I tried to catch my breath.
"Let's do this upstairs" I breathed, and he nodded in response pulling me up the staircase.
I snuck in another kiss as his hand fumbled for the keypad, not paying attention to my presence. He slowly pressed in the code as he attacked my neck with kisses, and I returned the favour.
Finally the door swung open and Hakyeon was already leading me down the hallway. I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face.
462430. That was way too easy.
