I swallowed hard as Leo's dark eyes moved onto me. He gritted his teeth and let out a growl. Yes. This was the owner of the chamber I was about to enter.
"Why does he hate me?" I whined, not budging from my spot a good distance away from Leo.
"He doesn't hate you" Ken responded, "he kind of hates all of us."
"Oh well that makes me feel so much better"
"You can do this (y/n), he won't hurt you" I heard Hongbin say as I slowly made my way to the chamber.
Leo watched my every move like a hawk. He took a step back when I opened the door, allowing me to get inside easily. The tension in the room was thick, I thought he was going to rip me to shreds any second.
"Just keep your distance (y/n), he doesn't like to be touched" Ravi reassured me, as he watched intently through his own chamber.
I moved slow and steady, dragging my fingers across the wooden floorboard, hoping to find an opening of some sort. My heart beat against my chest as I felt Leo's stare on me, not knowing what he was going to do.
"I think this piece is loose" I announced, fiddling with the plank, "It's really hard to lift this thing up."
Suddenly I felt a pair of cold hands wrap around my fingers. Leo's piercing stare sent shivers down my spine as he lifted the piece of wood with ease.
I nodded a nervous thank you as my eyes caught a glimpse of a shimmering gold item inside the compartment. This was it.
"Okay guys this is it I guess" I said, gathering the container with the hair samples and headed back out.
I pulled out the book and flipped through the pages quickly to make sure I had everything as I was now running out of time.
"Shit I got a papercut" I groaned, sucking on my finger to ease the pain.
"(y/n) hurry up" Hongbin snapped as I laid out everything in front of me.
"Calm down" I mumbled, taking a deep breath in. I opened up the hourglass and inserted the samples in it, just like the book instructed and turned the hourglass over.
"It says that once it runs out, the curse is lifted" I informed as I took a step back and we all watched the black sand run quickly through the glass.
Suddenly the glass began to shake uncontrollably, a red substance emerged from the sand and began filling up the entire hourglass.
"What's happening? " I panicked, taking several steps back until my body collided with Hongbin's chamber.
"You should know" Hongbin hissed,
"(y/n) you're finger is still bleeding.."
"What?"
"Did you touch the sand with your cut finger?" he asked as I looked down, seeing a few drops of blood form from the cut.
"I...I don't know....could this mean that---"
Before I could manage to finish my sentence, I felt the room spin around me. Flashes of light caught my eye as everything began to slow down. I heard his voice, Hongbin calling out to me, but I couldn't respond. I saw them. I saw them all looking at me but I couldn't feel my body. I felt cold and numb, I didn't feel like myself.
-----------
I was in a garden, my grandmothers garden. My feet soaked from the dew covered grass and my favourite book in my hand. I walked over to the oak tree at the back of the garden, where I usually like to get lost in my own world forget about my troubles.
I drifted off into a deep sleep, until I felt a pair of warm hands wrap around my waist, and pull me closer.
"(y/n)......" His voice rang, so sweet and smooth. "(y/n) wake up.. please" he continued, but all I wanted to do was lay in his arms and listen to his voice.
My vision was blurry and the feeling of unfamiliarity still lingered around me. I could finally feel my legs again, but I didn't have the energy to move.
"(y/n) wake up, can you hear me?"
"Hongbin?" I whispered, my eyes finally adjusting to my surroundings. I was surrounded by white and pink lilies, arranged on the ceiling above me, and along the corners. I ran my fingers across the white sheets on the double bed and stepped onto a wooden panelled floor. There was clear water surrounding the bed, looking all to familiar for my liking.
"H-hongbin? Hongbin what's going on?" I asked anxiously, already on the verge of a panic attack.
I ran my fingers across the cold glass, now knowing where I was. I was in one of these things. I was in a chamber.
I desperately bolted for the door, but I was unable to exit. Something repelled me from reaching for the handle
I was stuck.
I felt tears streaming down my face, not realising I was dressed in another outfit. I wore a long white dress, equipped with a few pieces of jewellery and a flower crown. This was clearly Hakyeon's doing, he was punishing me.
I flung the crown into the water and broke down even more. I heard the rest of the boys shuffle uneasily at my sobs, only to hear Hongbin call for me again.
"(y/n), don't be afraid, I'm here" he said calmly, already making me feel slightly better. "How do you feel?"
"W-what happened? H-how long was I asleep?" I whispered, seeing I was actually much nearer to Hongbin than I had thought.
The water that flowed from his chamber, flowed into mine but surprisingly it didn't upset the balance. But where it was connected, was a pathway around the back, leading straight towards him.
"Your blood upset the entire curse, causing you to pass out. And it's been 7 days since then" Hongbin answered, keeping to his side of the chamber.
"I was asleep for 7 days?" I cried, "and Hakyeon, he found me and decided to punish me by putting me in here?"
"That's the thing, you weren't asleep, you were shifting" Hongbin clarified, "you were becoming....like us."
