17. The Witch

I powered through most of the day, not taking my eyes off her for a second. I missed her conversations during the day, I missed having her voice echo throughout my head. I began to ponder on her for the first time without her asking why I'm staring at her and took in everything I loved about her. I once asked myself if I only fell in love because I'd been trapped for so long, and she was the first girl I'd spoken to in years. But I knew now, once she was taken away, how much she means to me.

As soon as we woke I looked at her for a response, but she just stood there, as if she didn't know what to do with herself. I shook my head in frustration and went out of the room to find the others. I found them all in Hyuk's room, except Leo of course.

"What the hell happened man? where's (y/n) ?" Ravi asked as I paced the room and ran my fingers through my hair. I was a mess. Hearing her name alone hurt me, I needed to pull myself together.

"He...did something to her" I said, biting down on my lip "I dont know what it is, but she's like a fucking puppet or something, she doesnt respond much, she only does what he tells her to do."

"Okay, just calm down here.."

"Calm down? how the hell do I calm down Ravi ? you dont know what she means to me" I snapped. Ravi put up his hands in defense and gestured for me to take a seat at the table.

Pulling out the chair and taking a seat, I looked up at the three pairs of worrying eyes that probably didn't know what to do with me at this point. Hell, I didn't even know what to do with myself at this point.

"The witch was here?" Ken finally asked as I finally began to settle down.

"Yeah, well its that cleaner woman" I replied, her familiarity only registering to me now.
"Hakyeon made his henchmen take her to some tower."

"The tower? that's on the other side of the castle!" Ravi exclaimed jumping to his feet, "I know where it is."

"Hakyeon has these prop mannequins looking at us all the time, we cant do it" I said sourly.

Ravi turned around and noticed the mannequin and walked over to it. I heard a crack of plastic as Ravi kicked the mannequin square in the face and we all watched in astonishment as it disintegrated into a pile of dust.

"Well that takes care of that!" Ravi boasted, "and If Hakyeon decides to stop by, I'll make sure he is welcomed by Leo now let's get to that tower."

I felt myself smile for the first time since yesterday. There was hope. A little hope that we might get out of here. Ravi and Ken proceeded  to the bottom floor to release Leo while I took Hyuk upstairs to (y/n).

"You have to stay here and watch over her okay? and dont forget to destroy these mannequins" I said, tapping him on his shoulder as he took a shaky step into the room.

"You owe me one" he stuttered as I nodded in agreement and made my way to the meeting spot Ravi had picked.

Finally I saw Ravi and Ken emerge from the hallway and Ravi led the way up to the tower. The staircase was long and endless. The walls were covered in strange script along with cobwebs that made this dark journey even more unsettling.

The door was of course locked up and Ravi and I struggled to push it open. After about seven attempts, we finally managed to kick the wooden door in and let ourselves into the tower. The place looked like it had not been cleaned in years. The room smelt damp and had this odd presence surrounding it, much like when the old lady looked at me the night before.

"W-hy are you h-here?" a small voice came from behind the bookcase.

"We want you to undo whatever you did to all of us and get us out of here" I demanded, approaching her hiding spot. The woman flinched as I led her out into the open, and Ravi and Ken guarded her.

"I cant do that, he'll...he'll come after us" she said shaking her head frantically.

"He wont do anything trust me, we'll protect you" I assured her as she softened up a bit. She looked around and took in that we didn't have much time and finally nodded in agreement, disappearing to her table of books.

"Great so whats the first thing you need ?!" I asked desperately, joining her at the table.

"We need him. We need Hakyeon to be here."
