Hazel hung out with her friends, she hadn't seen them in awhile and Calum just recommended her to do so.
She showed him a sensitive side and it was rare when she acted that way, she was usually really confident, well she is, in fact and made sure to show it often.
Hazel knew she had pretty much everything, she was taught to never let someone put her down or humiliate her but she sometimes tended to act like she was superior to others and that was kind of a problem.

"How are things with the killer-jawline boy?" Mia wiggled her eyebrows at the brunette. She smiled cockily, she enjoyed the fact that his boyfriend was incredibly attractive and every girl out there would die to have someone like him.
"As good as ever." Hazel smiled proudly.
"You seem to never have problems in paradise, chica." Laura said while sipping on her champagne.
"We don't have reasons to have big arguments, really." Hazel shrugged. She liked it that way and didn't think it was a problem. Why would they fight? that didn't meant they didn't care about each other, right?
"Such a lucky one, babe." The brunette never believed that sometimes people that don't fight, might not care about sorting things out with their partner anymore and causing troubled talks would be just an stressing situation. It was better to let things go...That wasn't her case; according to Hazel.
"What's he do?" Mia suddenly asked. Laure instantly rolled her eyes at her.
"What do you mean?" Hazel stared back at Mia.
"For a living, y'know, babe. How are you gonna keep looking forward if he doesn't make a living out of nothing" She laughed.
"oh." The brunette bit her lip.
"It doesn't matter, they're still young." Laura glared at the blonde.
"He is in college...still." Hazel took the glass of champagne and downed all of what was left.

Such a pity our boy, Calum, dropped out after two years. He didn't have a clear reason why and just did it; maybe needed to sort out his priorities and have an actual life-plan.
Hazel knew he was living thanks to the money his parents saved for his college tuition.
Calum's parents worked their ass off and they don't even know his son is practically chilling in his department.
Hazel knew this, it wasn't something you could hide but she just thought that they could live off her money, she was the one to inherit the family business. Her sister was never in town and had a job of her own, successful as well.

She wanted to keep Calum forever, no matter what.

Their relationship was nothing out of the ordinary, the worst pathetic-boring cliché actually, they met at a club. Cool? isn't it.
They shared a few drinks, got drunk but surprisingly, didn't have sex immediately.  They did exchange numbers and then just kept in contact, went out and things just went from there.
Her family doubted him at first sight but Calum managed to put them on his side.
At first you could think Calum started dating her because she was; pretty, wealthy and just a really good shot, how else could it be explained? Hazel was more than head over heels actually and it happened that he was extremely attractive, a little boyish sometimes, full of charm, oh boy, how could someone not fall for him?
They were the perfect couple with almost no ups and downs. So, Calum did like her in the begginning, they had fun together and things seemed to work out between them. He though they could date and their relationship started, months passed and the first exchanges of i love you's happened.
Hazel invited him for dinner to meet her parents, typical story, the usual. Her dad bombarded him with questions and Calum told him everything any parent would like to hear. He complimented Hazel's mom, this dish is exquisite ma'am, you have a beautiful and elegant home.
Of course the woman was going to love the boy. Let's add that Calum said something infallible, something that would get him both of her parents.
You have such a beautiful and smart daughter, it's an honor to be a part of her life.
Damn and that was it.

Now, have you heard of couples that are still together out of routine? They're so used to be together that everything turns out to be monotone, being so used to be side by side.
I can't live without you, oh, honey you can. You just don't want to be a loner.
Affection will most likely never disappear, but it won't be love, not like the first day you discovered you felt something stronger than attraction for your partner.
Hazel was sure she loved him or was just used to it but Calum; he was sure he didn't love her -does he love anyone?- he still tried to sort things out; Hazel could wait for a little, he had a messy life, no need to add other problem to the list.

Just the other day Calum was checking his old college website. He still had time to send in an application, maybe see the chance of a scholarship. His money wasn't enough anymore. Sadly he would have to do something and get his ass off the couch to get a job.

"Cal, you said you would try." Lana nudged him. "You still have time. There's a week left of break and -" The boy pecked her lips and grinned. Calum took the laptop from Lana's hands and placed it in front of him.
The girl smiled efficiently and jumped off the stool, grabbed two mugs and started preparing some whipped coffee.
"Remember you have a big chance to enroll into college, it hasn't been that long since you dropped out, right?" Lana encourages him.
"Uh, I don't know." He mumbled. "I completed two years and left the next after the first semester, so It's been like a year or something." he also started college a year after graduating.
Lana placed a mug beside him and kissed his cheek. "Thank you, babe." He said trying it.
The girl sat on the counter, beside the laptop.
After a few minutes Calum's eyes went wide and there was a cute grin in his face.
"What?" Lana asked excitedly as well.
"I found that you can apply for a soccer scholarship until 24 years old and many schools allow dropouts to return without reapplying and even transfer credits." He pushed the laptop and
grabbed Lana's thighs and slid her body to his side.
"We can be roomies." He said wiggling his eyebrows.
"Fuck you, hood." Lana laughed.
"That can be arranged." The girl slapped his arm and rolled her eyes.
"Calum."
"What?"
"Are you really going to try?" She asked. Calum sighed and laid his head on her legs.
The problem has always been there, he just knew how to hide it. He was scared as hell of his future, didn't know what he would do when he were no longer on his 20's, so, decided to postpone everything.

"What if I turn out to be a flop, well I already am one but-"
"You're won't be a flop. Your life might be messy right now, but you will work on it." She assured him.
"I don't even know what to apply for." He hugged her hips.
"Something you like? and go for that scholarship." He didn't answer. "I know you love music and uh literature, you're one hell of a good writer and song writer." Calum's head snapped up and his grip on her hips tightened.
"How'd you know?"
"uhm, We always listen to music and you ramble about it all the time and uh it's obvious you love music." She smiled nervously, Calum raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not talking about that. You went through my stuff." It was an statement. Anyways he wasn't mad, he trusted Lana.
"No! you know I'm not like that, one of your journals was on your nightstand and I was curious, I'm sorry." She bit her bottom lip and started fidgeting.
"It's okay." He smiled at her.
"You're not mad?"
"It's you, why would I be?" He grabbed the nape of her neck and pushed her down to meet her lips. "I would've of show you eventually but you're too sneaky." He chuckled. Calum stood up and hugged the girl sitting in front of him. "Thank you."  She now looked up at him. "For still trusting in me." Lana smiled genuinely. He stroked her cheeks and kissed her forehead. "And now that we are talking 'bout music, remember the record shop?"
"Where I met this annoying and conceited guy? yes." She said putting her hands on his shoulders.
"You mean the hot guy?" His hands traveled down her hips and squeezed her bottom, Lana squealed in surprised. "Everyone needs their butt grabbed very once in awhile. Especially yours."
"I agree." Lana opened her legs a bit more and pushed Calum closer to her body and grabbed his ass.
"I'm glad I met you." He chuckled. "Now put on some pants, we're going record hunting."
