Today is Monday and I'm going back to school. And the weird thing is, I'm not scared. Austin taught me a lot in the year I was away. He taught me how to fight, how to take care of myself. He made me a stronger person. I told my family that I'm not the same girl they knew before I left. So right now I'm getting ready for school with a smile on my face.
"Brooke you ready?" Ken asks me from my door.
"Go ahead without me. I'll see you at school." I tell her. I have half of my hair straightened.
"Are you sure?" She asks. I put my straightener down and open my door.
"Kendall I got this. Trust me. And look I'm nowhere close to being ready." I said motioning to my body. I was just walking around in my bra and a pair of Riley's shorts. She chuckled and hugs me.
"Love you Brooke." She says walking away.
"Love you too Ken." I call back to her. I shut my door and go back to my hair. Turning my music up I start my other side of my hair.
Ten minutes later my hair is finished. I'm looking through my closet for an outfit. My eye lands on a maroon dress with a black belt around the waist. I smile at it and grab it. Putting it on I go to my shoes and look for a good pair to go with the dress.
"Brooke where are you?" I hear Xavier ask walking into my room.
"Closet!" I yell from there. He walks in ad smiles. I was sitting on the floor with five different pairs if heels around me.
"What are you doing?" He asks.
"I can't find the right shoes." I say grabbing another pair of shoes. "Why aren't you at school?" I ask.
"Woke up late. The other two didn't even wake me up." He says sitting down next to me.
"Well go ahead and go. I'll see you there." I say grabbing a pair of black wedges.
"I like those." He says when I try them on.
"Me too." I say standing up.
"I love you. I'll see you at school." He says kissing my cheek.
"Love you too." I say walking out of my closet. He smiles and leaves my room. Now jewelry. I get the necklaces I got for my birthday and the bracelet. When I get those on I put my promise ring on. I think I'll skip makeup today. Just my lipstick.
I look around my room to make sure I'm not forgetting anything, I have my purse, phone, keys, money. I think I'm good.
"Mom I'm going love you." I say hugging her. Dad wasn't able to come home yesterday because he was very busy so I will let him know I'm home today after school.
"Love you too." She says. I walk out of the house and get into my car. First stop Starbucks.
"Can I help you?" A girl in her early twenties asks me.
"Can I have a cappuccino please?" She nods and hands it to me.
"$2.66." I hand her a five.
"Keep the change."
"Thank you." I smile at her and walk out. My phone rings so I answer it.
"Where the hell are you?" Riley asks.
"I'm just leaving Starbucks. I'll be there in two minutes." I say hanging up on him. I drive to school and see Xavier's car with a empty space next to it. I pull in and get my things.
"Brooke!" I hear someone yell behind me. I spin around and see Noah running at me.
"Noah!" I say just as happy as him. He hugs me when he gets to me.
