"So, you lived in the woods this whole time?" Jake joked as Mackayla walked into the room. I was tempted to slap him in the face (almost constantly, but...) but I ignored the urge and instead ushered Mackayla and the others inside.
She huffed and rolled her eyes jokingly, "Yea, sure, and I've been adopted by wild bears." Jake clapped for her, and I stood behind Mackayla, hand on her shoulder still, quietly snickering.
Lillian had an eyebrow raised and her hands were on her hips. She reminded me of my mother when she was upset or confused or had 'a talking to give me.'
"Oh, Lillian, dear?" I sing-songed, "What's the matter?" I could tell this wasn't a good time for jokes, but how could resist?
She rolled her eyes and pulled her ponytail off her chest and on to her back, pulling me by my arm to the corner of the room. "Why is she here?" Lillian quietly hissed, very out of character for her. "Well, I didn't exactly invite her," I said in a small voice, looking over at Mackayla. She was laughing with Kaden, Jake, and Rianne. She looked genuinely happy. "But she looks like she's having fun. You should let her stay, Lil."
"This was supposed to be for us, Ryanne," She sounded as though she was pleading fro something. "Well, Mollie and Luke weren't supposed to be here and-"
"That's different. We at least know them well enough."
"Yea, maybe too well," I hissed under my breath, staring daggers at the couple in question across the room. "Anyway, Lil, please,"
Lil shook her head and shut her eyes. "I'm gonna let this slide," My eyes brightened. "But! We're gonna throw another killah party ourselves soon with no one extra," She smiled at me. I couldn't do anything about the brightness on my face after that.
"Mackayla, make yourself at home," Lillian said, standing up on the glass coffee table in front of the couch. "In fact, everyone get comfortable, because the party..." She paused for dramatic effect, holding a finger in the air and bowing her head, "is on." Her voice was soft but really excitable at the same time. Everyone cheered, even Aidan in the kitchen, even Mackayla who was practically a stranger, and even that dreaded Luke Thomas.
Perfection? I think yes.

morene's povMy hand's grip on the hot sauce became inevitable; when I put it down, I hadn't missed a beat to pick it up.
My mission was plain simple, but it was going to be great, I promise. About 20 minutes after Mackayla arrived, the party was just beginning and my plan was to be set in
motion. That's when I spotted my target, laughing with Kaden, both leaning on the wall.
It was time, I said to myself. "Hey Mollie," I approached her, greeting her cheerfully, hot sauce in hand. "Oh, hi Morene," A small smile appeared on her lips. Mollie pointed to the hot sauce, giving me that quizzical look. "Oh, this?" I said, holding it up, leaning it towards her.
"Want a better look?" Mollie opened her mouth to reply, but it was interrupted by waves of unwanted, scorching hot sauce.
I took a good look at my fantastic mess. She was absolutely drenched, trying to see through the hot sauce plastered on her. I couldn't help but smile and leave as she practically cried in front of Luke. Let's just say, it was a victory for not just me, but pretty much everyone else. Let's face it, I'm a hero.

Mollie had been taking a shower and when she got out, I bit my cheek to stop the oncoming laughing fit.
The best part, she embarrassed herself in front of Luke, who I was sure was going to break up with her.
Wow, did I hear myself? I'm obsessed, I need to relax, this is a party.
I repeated, this is a party, Ryanne. Keep it together...
