and finally, sleep

It was about two in the morning when I realized I was no longer high. I'd passed out on the couch after Lillian told me to go lay down and I had only woke up a few minutes ago.

I looked around, seeing Morene passed out on the recliner on the other side of the room. She looked peaceful enough. Next I saw Kaite, sitting against the wall beside the recliner, headphones in ears and face buried in phone.

Standing up with a crack in my bones, I stretched, yawned, then moved my self over to Kaite. I was extremely tired still and my jacket had pit stains, so that further proved how fucking hot it was. Before I slid down the wall to sit beside her, I threw off my jacket, watching it land across the room carelessly. See, this was the opposite of a control freak. This is what sleep does to you, I suppose.

Finally, I slid down the wall to meet Kaite. She looked at me, then took her headphones out of her ear. "Hey, you're up finally," She smiled.

"Yep," I paused, looking around, "Uh, hey, where's everyone at?" I hadn't noticed at first that the lights were more dim than ever, Morene was the only other one downstairs, and it wasn't super noisy. Although there was some rustling in the kitchen, I didn't bother looking at first.

"Well, let's see..." She started, "I know that Lillian and her boyfriend went upstairs to do you-know-what; Jake is probably sleeping in one of the bedrooms, and I also know that Mackayla and Toni went outside to hang out." She paused for a moment, "Mollie and Luke- well I think they're in that third bedroom. But I have no clue where Kaden or Rianne are."

"That could be the rustling in the kitchen," I blurted out loud. "Oh," Kaite looked at me, smiled, and leaned over to get a view of the kitchen. "Yea, they are," She started to laugh, "Look!"

I took action, standing up, then walking into the kitchen. Kaite didn't miss a beat, instead she picked up and followed close behind. I stopped in the door way of the kitchen when I saw Rianne Snow sitting on the kitchen counter, her face buried in Kaden Lara's.

I covered my mouth to muffle the scream about to release. I walked away quickly after eternity-long seconds, my mouth still hanging open. I blankly plopped onto the couch, followed by Kaite who I looked at shockingly. "Kaite! Did you see that? Oh my god,"

"They were like eating each other!" I continued in horror. "I'm so confused," Kaite spoke up. "I thought he liked Mollie." She looked away for a moment. "Guess not."

"I support, but this is a lot to take in," I said, sinking into the couch, "I hope they work out." Kaite did the same, "Yeah, it would be cute."

The wind whirled around carelessly but lightly, as if it were avoiding waking up everyone. I sat out on the porch and watched the light creep through the trees and grow

larger as the sun continued to rise. The sight was very pleasant and calming, but most importantly it was quiet and kept the splitting headache at bay.

I'm positive everyone decided to get some sleep eventually, and I think everyone is tuckered out and won't be up for a while.

As for myself, I haven't slept since I woke up in the middle of the night. I was debating on sleeping after Kaite passed out on the couch watching TV with me. Instead, I watched TV until the sun started to sneak through the windows.

I yawned loudly and rubbed my eyes, growing tired finally. I stood up, or, well, attempted, because as soon as I found the strength I plopped back down. Stupid legs.

Eventually, I got up, walked into the house, and checked the clock above the TV. It read 6:40 AM. Yeah, okay, I should probably sleep. But, where?

It wasn't long before I found myself peaking into one of the bedrooms, which was of course occupied by Jake. I rolled my eyes, opened the door further but carefully, and sat at the end of the bed. Jake was laying there, but he didn't budge. Tough cracker.

I felt weird crawling into bed with someone else besides one of my closer friends. Well, he was a close friend, but...y'know? I did it anyway. Despite the awkwardness in the morning and how I'll probably never say another word.

Fuck it, I'm tired, and there's no chance I'm screwing up my neck just because I have to sleep on the floor. I sighed, and hopped off the end of the bed only to return again but at the top. I lifted the covers carefully and yeah, there I was, laying.

I felt my eyelids grow heavy and I couldn't really remember what happened here, but I'm guessing I fell into the deep, dark, black hole that is sleep. For once, that is.
