Chapter 9 Part 2 ~ Jealousy

Nath was there and he watched the whole scene of us kissing and him putting on the necklace.

Once I pulled away though, and looked back to where he was standing he wasn't there. I thought I just imagined it.

We walked back to the beach and everyone has finally arrived. I've greeted all my former and new friends and turned up the music. Since it was still light we didn't put the lights on just yet but we turned the smoke machines on.

We were having great fun dancing and messing around until my best friend Braelynn, introduced us to some games.

Every time I looked towards Nath he would just look the other way, when I tried to talk to him and start a conversation with him he ignored me. I wonder why?..

When it got dark I turned on the lights and the beach looked even more beautiful. The purple sky and the moon made the water look calm and relaxing once again. I sat down just before the waves. The waves could then only touch my feet. My knees were up to my chest and I sat alone.

It was nice, calm and quite. At least until Ryder came running towards me. He then picked me up bridal style, and started running towards the water. I soon realised he had no shirt on. "Let's go for a quick soak!" He exclaimed laughing.

I started screaming and banging my fists into his chest, whilst kicking my legs at the same time. Everyone at the shore was laughing. However I didn't find it funny.

Ryder then stopped and dropped me into the freezing water. Luckily I was in my bikini only. My hair and make up were now ruined thanks to Ryder.

I got up and jumped on his back making him slip and fall into the water with me still on top. I started punching his chest playfully.

"O-ow! Don't hit me, haha, it was a d-dare! Hahahaha" he said in between breaths and laughter. I ignored him and continued to punch him.

I didn't even realise that Braelynn, Scarlet, Faith, Asher, Carter and Blair came running into the water. Asher and Braelynn splashed me from both sides and caught my attention.

Though my gaze landed on Nath, who was sitting alone at the tables, I started laughing and splashing the people around me. Then everyone els came running in towards us, all except Nath were now in the water. "Aren't you coming in too, Nath?!" I shouted to him, loud and clear, making sure he heard me.

"Nah, I'm not a fan of water!" He yelled back. Nath was such a bad liar. He was clearly upset about something. I didn't bother asking him, I just shook my shoulders and returned my attention to everyone in the water.

After some time we decided to get out the water. Actually let me rephrase that. The girls were chased out of the water by the boys running around throwing seaweed in our hair and down our tops.

Ryder was still running after me, he chased me around with seaweed in his hand, laughing. When he caught up to me, he jumped making me trip and fall. Him landing on top of me, seaweed still visible in his hand. He laughed more and spoke, "scared are we?"

He threw away the green plant and started to tickle me. "Hahaha! S-st ahaha stop!" I managed between laughs. Ryder ignored me and carried on. I managed to push him of me and we switched positions. I was now on top of him. I smirked when an idea popped into my head..

(Nathaniel's P.O.V)

I watched them laughing and rolling around in the sand. She changed so much, I can't tell if it's for better or worse. I can tell we aren't close anymore, just the thought of losing her made me mad.

"Hey dude. Why so down?" The raven haired guy named Blake walked over and sat next to me.

Before I could answer Carter walked over and sat opposite me, "he's jealous of Ryder. He stole his girl, isn't that obvious?" He laughed.

Then the girls came over with food also laughing, I assumed they heard what Carter just said.

"Jealous? More like over protective!" Hazel laughed.

"He had always had such a massive crush on her, but he never had the courage to ask her out!" Asher came out of nowhere laughing, historically.

"Haha guys very funny!" I shouted, note my sarcasm.

Kerris stood behind me and playfully punched me on the back. "Oh come on, they were just joking!" She also burst out laughing.

I've had enough and stood up saying I was gonna go for a walk. Leaving them all behind and so I didn't have to listen to the comments they made about me.
