"Sure, I mean how bad can he be?" Raven replied.

***************

"You're what? Seventeen?" Leicester asked bluntly.
"Technically eighteen tomorrow." Raven muttered.
"Doesn't make a differences!" He replied.
"I know how to hold a gun, and shoot on point?" Raven interrupted. He thought for a moment in silence.
"Ahh what the heck! But if she mucks up one mission, she stays here, OK?" He said calmly.
"Yes sir." Abby said. They left the office with Leicester.

"Cutter!" He yelled. "This is your new team mate, Raven Maitland, Abby's niece. We'll have a nice time. I have a meeting to get to." And with that he walked off.

"So, how did you get hired at the age of seventeen? Innocence? Don't matter. Come on let's introduce you to the team, shall we?" Raven nodded.

After seeing everyone again, she stayed back with Stephen.
"So, who are you tagging along with on your first mission?" Stephen asked, looking at her, wondering.
"I don't know. I guess it will have to be someone who is strong and can keep an eye on me whilst fighting creatures of the past and future." She raised and eyebrow as he raised both and hesitated.
"That will be me I guess." He rolled his eyes. Just as he was about to say something else, a siren went off and he grabbed her wrist and dragged her back to the main hall. There Connor gave the address to them and they set off for the Forest of Dean.

"So what gun can you handle?" Stephen asked.
"Any," she replied, "but I prefer the handguns myself."
"Cool," he muttered.

As they arrived and geared up, Nick started saying where everyone had to go.
"Connor, go East, Abby North, I will go South and Stephen and Raven will go West. We are looking for velociraptors with blue spines. Oh, and, try not to get killed, any of you."

Off they set and it was a very awkward first hour. They started to head back, when a twig snapped.
"Stay still,' he whispered as she got her gun at the ready. Another snap. It started with one growl, then built up to about 4 or 5. Out of nowhere, a raptor jumped her but she shot it first. It went down with tranquilliser. Then a couple more, she shot those. Stephen was dealing with three of his own. She turned to see another one standing a few feet away. She went to pull the trigger, but she was out of darts. She screamed. The raptor clawed at her and caught her leg. She howled but continued to struggle against its powerful claws. It tripped and fell. She grabbed her gun and shoved it down its throat and it choked and died. A couple of minutes later the rest of the team showed up and helped them with the last couple. On the way back the car, Stephen carried Raven as she could not walk with the cut on her leg until it was checked out.

"Not bad for a beginner," Stephen said on the way back to the A.R.C.
"Well at least I'm not dead, right?" She replied, "I am so screwed. Leicester is going to kill me."
"Nope because you didn't screw up the mission. In fact, you saved it. You did shoot down four fully grown raptors and escaped with a minor injury." He shrugged his shoulders.

When they arrived at the A.R.C, Raven was bandaged up and was taken to Abby.
