Never in my life
Have I been so close
Yet so far
From who I am
And who I want to be
I've always let others get in the way
They're telling me who I should be
And what I should do when I finally join the real world
They say,
"Go to school,
get a degree,
and become who your parents tell you to be"
But I don't want to follow that path anymore
I wanna be carefree
I wanna make money being happy
I wanna change the world with the words that I sing
