Chapter 4 - Confession

 Dan and Charlie were sat in Starbucks casually talking about Doctor Who. As they were discussing Matt Smith and David Tenant a boy, with jet black hair and deep blue eyes, emerged from the doors with a beautiful blonde haired girl who had dark green eyes at his side. Almost as soon as they had entered the room Charlie good mood plummeted to the ground. Dan noticed this as she had gone very quiet and she was only replying with one word answers.

“whats wrong” Dan asked his voice full of concern. Charlie just shook her head in a poor attempt to ignore Dans question but Dan wasn't the type to give up easily and asked yet again.

“what's wrong” this time Charlie had no choice but to answer truthfully.

“T-The two people that have just come in... it's Logan and the girl he cheated on me with” Charlie gave in, her voice full of sorrow. As soon as the words left her mouth Dan realised that it must really hurt her to see them together. As Charlie looked down towards the table Dan,without a second thought, reached and grabbed her hand ,that was clasped around her cup. This caused Charlie to look up at Dan with confused eyes.

“just go along with it” he whispered low enough so only she could here. With those words Logan started to approach the table.

“Hi Charlie, who is this” Logan asked.

Charlie didn't know what to say Dan was just her friend but he was holding her hand and what was she supposed to be going along with. As she was about to answer Dan cut her off.

“i'm her boyfriend” silence fell as the words left Dans mouth. Charlie was staring at Dan with shock as to what he had said.

“oh.. well im glad that you found someone else” Logan awkwardly said before walking back to his own table.

Dan and Charlie awkwardly sat together until they had both drank there drinks and decided that it was time to go home. As usual Dan offered to walk her home and Charlie agreed. The walk home was very awkward between the two. Charlie didn't know how to react to what Dan had done, she knew that he had done it to help her but she couldn't help but feel awkward about the whole thing. Charlie was also confused about the feeling she got when Dan grabbed her hand. She got a slight flutter in her stomach. The curiosity was killing her so she decided to confront Dan.

“why did you say that you were my boyfriend” she blurted out giving Dan a fright.

“Oh...I..um I just thought that it would keep Logan from talking to you for a long time”

“Oh ok” she replied she still wanted to ask him some questions but she just couldn't find the correct words.

“How would you umm.. like to come to a restaurant with me tomorrow” Dan asked as they were coming close to her house.

“sure. We should ask Mel and Phil if they want to come” Charlie replied missing the point.

“umm.. I was think j-just the two of us” Dan admitted going a bright crimson colour. Charlie caught on to what he was trying to say and was shocked to say the least. She had just come out of a relationship that really lowered her trust in guys.

“sorry Dan” she started “i just don't think of you in that way” Dan's face was a mix of sadness and embarrassment.

“ok” He gave in “i don't want this to hurt our friendship though”

“of course it wont” Charlie replied as she walked into her house. “see you tomorrow”

“bye” Dan said as he turned around and headed in the direction of the apartment he shared with Phil

ok so i know that the story is really boring at the moment but PLEASE bare with me it will get better i promise and about the voting thing i am not going to do it anymore it's surprising really stressful haha. but seriously please keep reading and thank you to everyone that is i really appreciate it <3 please comment and tell me what you think and vote if you want to and you think it was worthy <3
