Just a Chance

"My lady, if I was to ask you something, would you answer it honestly?"

Ladybug and Chat Noir let their feet dangle below as they sat on top of the Eiffel Tower. Their hands were placed on the surface from which they sat, merely inches apart. Not only was it a peaceful night, it was also quite beautiful. The clear, darkened sky allowed for the stars to shine brighter than usual. Chat Noir admired Ladybug as her Persian blue eyes glistened due to the luminous light from the crescent-shaped moon.

The two Parisian heroes spent the majority of that Saturday afternoon patrolling the city for any threats. Whereas there may not have been any akumas running loose, other criminals still existed. The police force typically took care of simple lawbreakers, but Ladybug and Chat Noir still felt as if they should be involved in catching the ordinary bad guys, as well.

Ladybug, who was daydreaming, switched her attention from her insignificant thoughts to her partner. She turned her head slightly to look at Chat Noir with small levels of concern. "Of course I would, Chat. What's on your mind?"

Chat Noir turned his head away from her to look down upon the city. "I have been feline, err, I mean feeling like every time I attempt a playful flirt, you just play it off as if it's nothing. I do like you more than just as a crime-fighting partner or even a friend." He stuck his hands in his lap, fiddling with his thumbs nervously.

Ladybug chuckled quietly. She placed her right hand on the boy's left shoulder. "Chat, I know that. I'm not completely oblivious, you know." She rolled her eyes playfully.

"I...I just wanted to ask you why you won't give me a chance?" Chat Noir looked Ladybug straight into the eyes, preparing himself for the worst. "You know that I would do anything for you, Ladybug."

"I understand that, Chat. I really do. I hope you realize that it has nothing to do with you personally, but rather with someone else." Noticing that the green-eyed hero wasn't comprehending, she continued with a small sigh. "There's this boy that I have been crushing on for quite some time now. Listen Chat, I like you...it's just that-"

"Oh, I see." He allowed for a short pause. "Would it be possible to at least know his name, my lady? For the sake of my sanity, I want to know who has your heart."

Would it really hurt to tell Chat Noir who it was? After all, Adrien Agreste was a famous model throughout Paris. Everyone knew his name and almost every girl was crazy about him. Maybe not in the same way that Marinette was, but still. "I suppose it couldn't hurt. His name is Adrien Agreste. He does modeling for his father, so you might have seen pictures of him around the city." For some odd reason, the black cat began grinning viciously and laughing savagely. At first, Ladybug stared at the boy with widened eyes. Then, she let out a lighthearted giggle. "What is with you, Noir? Do you not like him or something?"

"Oh, it's nothing. It's just...me and that Adrien kid have a lot more in common than you think."
