Am I In Love - Chapter 14

***Cassidy's P.O.V

"Oh my God! Derek!" I'm yelling when I see Derek get hit with the ball. I look at Jake. "What the hell Jake! What were you thinking?" I kneel next to Derek. I figured Jake was a little jealous of Derek since we started dating, but he had no right to keep aiming the ball towards Derek this way. I watch as the gym teacher runs to call the nurse. The nurse walks in with a wheel chair and pushes me away from Derek. I glare at her as she begins checking Derek's vital signs. "Well vitals are all good. If someone can help my pick him up and place him onto the wheel chair so I can get him into my office that would be great." Jace and the gym teacher place Derek on the wheel chair and they bring him to the nurse's office. Jake comes up to me and places an arm around my shoulder. I roll my eyes and shrug it off. I start walking to the the girls locker room to change out of my gym clothes. Once I'm into my normal clothes, I leave the gym. Jake is following me and I refuse to stop and wait for him. "Yo, Cassidy. Wait up!" He says catching up to me. "Cassidy. Babe. What the hell. I was calling you. Why are you ignoring me?" I look at him. "You just spiked a ball at my best friend's head and didn't even. What's wrong with you? I understand if you're jealous that Derek's close to me, but its another thing to aim a ball at his head. That's just childish Jake." I tell him a hint of aggravation in my voice. "Jesus Cass. I'm sorry! I didn't do it purposefully.." I cut him off, "Didn't do it purposefully? I saw you aim the ball at Derek every time it came towards you!" I notice him look away. I sigh and grab his hand. I look at him and kiss his lips softly. "I'm gonna go check on Derek and I'll meet you at lunch." I walk towards the nurse's office leaving Jake there alone. I walk in noticing Derek's laying down in the back. "Can I help you?" I turn my head to the nurse. "Yea uh.. I came to check on Derek" I tell her looking at him laying there. His body seems so lifeless. She lets me in and I sit near him.  

***Derek's P.O.V

I slowly feel myself gain consciousness. I open my eyes without a clue as to where I am. I look over to my side to see Cassidy sitting there. My heart immediately starts to beat faster. "Derek you're awake!" She says excitedly. I chuckle softly and my head starts pounding. I place my hand on my forehead. "What happened? Where am I?" I ask Cassidy barely able to speak. "You're in the nurses office. You got hit in the head by the ball during gym." That's why my head hurts. Now I remember what happened. We were playing a game of volley ball when Jake strike the ball and it hit me. I'm gonna kill him. He's being such an ass. This is not the guy I fell in love with. Cassidy has to leave him. Cassidy places a hand on my forehead and I look at her. She stares deep into my eyes, "I'm glad you're okay." she says. I slowly sit up as Cassidy helps me. I look at her staring into her eyes. then down to her lips and back to her eyes. My stomach is in knots and i cant help this weird feeling in me to just kiss her.. and that's exactly what I did. I just couldn't help myself. I placed a hand on her face and crashed my lips onto hers. If that isn't odd enough, there was this tingly feeling rushing through my body like.. like.. like sparks. Gosh it felt so good. And it seems like Cass enjoys the feeling to as our lips slowly move in sync. We forget we're in the nurse's office and we're interrupted by the nurse clearing her throat. "Well it seems you're feeling better now. You have about 10 minutes of your lunch left if you'd like to go get something before heading back to class. I will give both of you a pass in case you're late for the rest of the day. I want you to escort him to his classes to make sure he gets there fine." the nurse says writing out passes for Cassidy and I. We head out with an awkward silence between us. before we get to the cafeteria I stop pulling Cassidy to me. "Are you okay? I mean about what happened?" I ask her awkwardly. I want to make sure we're cool before heading towards our friends. She nods her head and smiles at me. I place a hand on her cheek. "Okay good" I say as she looks down awkwardly. I lift her face up until her eyes met mine. I run my thumb across her plump lips. I notice as she bites her lip. I can tell she wants me just as much as I want her right now. I'm caught by surprise as she places her lips on mine. I deepen the kiss slamming her into the wall. She runs her hands through my hair as I pick her up wrapping her tiny legs around my waist. I feel a soft moan escape her lips. We both break the kiss gasping for air and she lays her forehead on mine. "What just happened?" She asks me. "I have no idea." I tell her putting her down. Jesus. getting hit in the head with that ball really fucked me up. Cassidy starts fixing her self and pulls out a mirror to check her lipstick. She then heads into cafeteria and I'm start right behind her. She walks over to Jake smiling and sits next to him. My heart drops a little and I sit across from them. Jace looks at me "Bro you're okay. I was worried about you." He says and I chuckle "I'm fine. I had a little migraine when i woke up but I'm fine now." I tell him. I catch Cassidy glancing over at me then staring back at Jake. He pulls her closer and kisses her lips softly. I can tell she's a little distant from him. I hope I'm not the reason for it. I want Cassidy to make the decision if she wants to leave him or not. I can't have her make that decision just because of what happened. Just then the bell rings and we start heading out. Cassidy and I have math now and Jake's in our class. Let's wait and see what happens now...

***Jake's P.O.V

I walk out of the cafeteria to use the bathroom and i see Cassidy and Derek.. Wait a minute.. Are they kissing? This can't be happening. I knew Derek was trying to take her but I didn't know it would be this soon.. I was hoping to separate them before he could take her away from me. My heart hurts as I watch Derek picking her up while she runs her hands through his hair. He has her pinned against the wall with his hands on her hips. I breath deep to keep control and I walk back into the cafeteria. If i didn't have a reason to hate Derek now I do. Cassidy is MY girl and I'll do whatever I can to make her forget Derek even existed. They walk in right after I sit down. Cassidy walks over to me like nothing happened. Derek sits across from us next to Jace. I look at Cassidy and softly place a kiss on her lips as Derek watches. Just then the bell rings. Looks like its time for math. Someone's getting hell now. I smirk devilishly. Derek is definitely screwed now.
