Everything was in pitch black and dead silence, tears all over my pale face and the jacket that was all around me was the only thing that reminded me I exist. Its getting cold and I can barely moved my feet as I forced myself to sit up and leaned on the headboard of my bed and wipe the dried tears on my cheeks. And when I looked up on my clock it was already 10pm and I freaked out knowing that I've been sleeping since this afternoon. I grabbed my phone on the table and I saw twenty missed calls from Mason and uncountable messages.
Crap.
Twenty missed calls!
I also got messages and three missed calls from Chrissy.Damn, they've been contacting me and I'm sure they're all worried like hell. I sent a message to Mason and Chrissy telling them that I'm at home safe and sound. After a minute my phone rang and I saw Mason's name and I immediately clicked the answer button.
"Hello?"
"Damn it, Anna! I've been calling you the entire night! What the hell happened to you?! Where are you?!" He roared and my whole body was shaking, and I can't find the right words to say.
"I-I'm fine, Mase. Calm down, I'm at home and I overslept." My heart was beating too fast that I can actually feel the rising of my chest.
"I'm on my way there. We need to talk." He said firmly.
"Okay." Thats the only word I managed to say.
I rushed into my bathroom and looked at myself, realizing how messed up my face was so I turned the faucet on and splashed the cold water and let it soaked into my pores. After a couple of minutes I heard a knock on my front door so I ran through the stairs and opened it, I saw Mason standing and holding a paper bag. He looked so tired and exhausted so I immediately reached for his arm and escorted him inside. But he remained silent, waiting for me to say something first.
"What is that?" I asked calmly and pointing on the paper bag just to break the awkward silence.
"I bought you some food. I know you haven't eaten anything since this morning." His voice was small and calm but he didn't look at me.
Is he mad at me?
Its obvious Anna, you didn't answer his phone calls, what did you expect? You're such an idiot! My subconscious argued with me.
I grabbed his arm and leaned closer to him, savoring his amazing scent that I've been craving for. Jeez, I've missed him.
He placed his arm around me and that gave me a huge relief. Knowing that he's responding to my actions in a positive way. I kissed his cheek and brushed his hair by my fingers and staring at his beautiful face.
"Thanks for the food. I'll just get some water or do you want anything?" I asked nicely.
I placed the food on the counter and he pulled the chair and sat on to it. "Water is fine." He said.
I pulled the refrigerator's door and grabbed some cold water and placed it on the counter. I sat next to Mason and helped him prepare the food.
"Uh, about you said on the phone. What do you wanna talk about?" The nervousness in my voice was obvious but I need to be strong. And I need to know whats bugging him.
"My dad has a business trip this weekend so the family dinner moved tomorrow night."
Ohmy, I almost forgot about the dinner with his family and now its gonna be tomorrow night! I still have nothing to wear and I don't think I'm ready to face them. Shoot me now.
"Uh, Okay. But I have a problem. I don't have a nice dress to wear." I scratched my forehead and leaned on the table.
"Don't worry about it, I'll get you some this morning." He chuckled as he stood up and placed our plates on the sink and started washing the dishes.
