Tangled.16 - I never knew perfection 'till I heard you speak and now it kills me

I was sitting on the couch opposite my mother's hospital bed. She was still asleep. I was really worried about her. Hindi ko akalain na ganito ang magiging reaksyon niya sa nalaman niya. She wasn't supposed to know those things. It was all in the past now and I have no plans of telling her. I thought that I can live my whole life without her knowing anything at all. Mahal na mahal ni Mama si Achill at ayokong mabawasan ang pagmamahal niyang iyon sa kapatid ko.

"Pol..."

Dumating si Papa na dala ang iilang mga gamit ni Mama. He was with my cousin Liv. She was smiling at me pero bago siya lumapit sa akin ay hinalikan niya muna ang noo ng Mama ko. Liv had always respected and love my mother kahit na panay siyang sinasabihan ni Mama na umakto na parang isang Consunji kahi na Azul naman ang apelyidong gamit niya.

"Is she gonna be okay, Uncle?" Tanong niya kay Papa. Tumango naman ito kay Liv. "Alright. I have the information you need about Sabrina Lactaotao."

"You had her checked?" Papa asked me.

"I did. I need to make sure who she is and if she's telling the truth..."

Naupos si Liv sa tabi ko. May ibinigay siya sa aking isang brown envelope. Agad ko iyong binuksan at binasa ang mga nakalagay doon. Sabrina was telling the truth about who she really was. Nanay nga niya si Venus San Ravalo and her father really died when she was twelve years old – the father she grew up with now was her uncle – The retired CIA agent who taught her things. Basically, everything she told us was all true.

But still I wonder why she suddenly had a change of heart. Totoong mahal niya si Achilles? Hindi siya nagsisinungaling when it comes to my twin?

"She's legit, Pa." Wika ko. Tumango naman si Papa sa akin.

"Hindi ko pa nahahanap iyong tao ni Venus sa kompanya natin. I will do everything to find that person. Hindi ako papayag na makuha niya ang lahat. I had everyone cheked, Apollo, mag nag-iingat ako ngayon."

Natahimik kaming lahat nang mapansin namin na gumalaw ang kamay ni Mama. Lumapit si Papa sa kanya at hinaplos si Mama sa noo. Hindi naman nagtagal ay nagkamalay na talaga siya. She looked around and when she realized Papa was beside her she spoke in a stern voice.

"Call Achilles. I need to talk to him and Apollo."

"Hera, magpahinga ka muna." Malambing na wika ni Papa.

"You kept it from me for a long time. No one's resting now, Hades Sanz Vejar." Malamig na malamig ang tinig niya. Huminga lang si Papa nang malalim at tinawagan nga si Achilles. Matapos iyon ay bumalik si Papa sa tabi ng Mama ko.

"Who helped you hide this?" She asked. Nagpaalalay siya kay Papa para makaupo siya sa kama.

"Hera, My Queen, rest first. You need to regain your strength."

"No one is resting! I have to resolve this now! Who fucking helped you!?" Mangiyak-ngiyak si Mama.

"Sorry, Auntie, tatawagan ko na muna si Papay. We need to calm down." Lumabas si Liv at naiwan kaming tatlo. I sighed and looked at my father.

"Pa, it's all out in the open. The least we can do is tell her." Malumanay na wika ko. Naupo si Papa sa couch kung saan ako naroon kanina. Tumabi naman ako sa mama ko at hinawakan ang kamay niya.

"Uncle Ares helped us hide all the dirt and to make it look like I am really the one with Daphne that night." Agad na lumuha si Mama habang nakikinig sa akin. Umakbay ako sa kanya at pilit siyang pinatatahan.

"Is that why you sent me to Scotland, Hades? With Achill?"

"Yes, Hera. I didn't want you to know. I wanted to spare you the pain."
