“Hey are you coming to my Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow night?” I asked Brad.

“Yeah I bet it’s going to be great,” he continues. “But I must warn you I can get a bit…out of…control, if you –”

“I know what you mean, trust me. I’ll be on the lookout, thanks,” I cut him off. I looked at my watch and said. “Shoot, I’m going to be late for Chorus. See you later Brad.” I kissed his cheek and ran to class.

In Chorus Ella and I got the leading roles for a duet. We sang the song that we picked out and Ms. Pitchman gave us A’s for hitting the notes perfectly. As she did we smiled and jumped around. I love this class.

That night on Thanksgiving Chrisoff, his mom, my mom's brother, Uncle Jeffery, and Brad were coming. This is going to be amazing…or so I thought.

Everyone was here expected Brad and Chrisoff. Are they running late or something? I thought. Just then Brad and Chrisoff showed up at the same time. They both were sweating, huffing, and panting. What happened? Did they get jumped? Where they being chased? All these thoughts going through my head I felt dizzy.

“Tori I need to talk to you!” they both said. I was confused.  What was happening?

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, I need to talk to Tori!” Brad said.

“No I need to talk to Tori!” Chrisoff said.

I turned my head towards the kitchen and saw both my mom and Chrisoff’s mom talking and listing to classic music while they’re preparing for dinner. When I turned my head back towards the screaming couple they were still auguring.

“Look!” I shouted. They both looked at me with fear in their eyes (( Damn right they should have fear in their eyes when they see you get mad -Nat )). “After dinner meet me in my room and then we can talk.” I walked to the dining room and was about to take my seat until I said. “And one more thing, no more fighting, especially over me.”

Both Chrisoff and Brad sat side by side next to me (of course). When mom set the food on the table everyone was glorified. It looked great.

While everyone was eating, Brad wasn’t. I gave him a look. When he noticed my look, he took a bite of it and chewed. He gaged a little and heard a voice in my head.

Tori I need your help. Help me into the bathroom quickly.” I know that voice…its Brad’s. I looked at him in confusion, and then I got the message.

“Um…mom…Brad isn’t feeling well, can I show him to the bathroom?” I asked mom.

“Sure dear. I hope you feel better Brad,” she said. Brad and I got up and walked into the hallway.

He stumbled a little on the way, so I let him lean on me so he can keep his balance. As we got into the bathroom together he threw up the food he had in his mouth. I turned away from the sight and looked at myself in the mirror.

It was strange when I looked at myself, I thought it was changing. I turned on the faucet and rubbed water in my face. I looked at myself again and saw that my eyes were iridescent blue. I took a step back and saw that I was a vampire. I looked at Brad then back at the mirror. As I did the vampire-self was gone.

“What happened?” I asked Brad.

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“How did you get sick from the dinner?”

“I can’t eat well-done food.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m the only one in my family that has to, I eat raw meat that is bloody cause…um…let’s see…I’m a vampire Tori. I need blood that’s why my mom makes me ‘home’ lunches all the time!”

“You don’t have to get mad at me.”

“Sorry, I just need to cool off for a bit.” We just stand there doing nothing, it was complete silence. So I decided to break it.

“Do you want me to take you out back and let yourself feed on a rabbit or something?”

“Sure, give me a second I’m still gaging at the after taste of it.” I smiled and then he smied.

When we got back mostly everyone was done with their food. My plate was still full of food and after Brad eating that rabbit I wasn’t really hungry. Brad went to his seat and sat down while I went into the kitchen and got a glass of water. When I turned around Chrisoff was in front of me which caused me to drop the glass out of my hand, but amazingly he caught the glass just inches from the floor. I just stood there shocked as ever. He came back up with the glass in his hand and said.

“Did I” – he smiled – “scare you.”

“Yes you did you big dummy,” I said.

“It’s a good thing I caught the glass before it shattered…huh.”

“Yeah thanks.” I came forward and took the glass out of his hand and set it down on the counter. Chrisoff came forward and rubbed my arms. He pulled me close to him and started to lean downward. Chrisoff you need to stop doing this, I already have a boyfriend. I thought. I grabbed a cookie off the desert tray and slid it into his mouth. “Kiss that lover boy,” I said. I smiled and flicked his nose on the way to my seat.

*30 minutes of chatting and eating*

Everyone said good bye and was headed home. I went upstairs, headed into my room, and closed the door behind me. When I turned around I saw both Chrisoff and Brad staring at me, I jumped back and hit my head on the door. Why can't they just tell me that they were heading into my room before I got in I thought.

“Oh my god Tori, are you okay,” they both said rushing to my side.

“Hey bloodsucker lay off will you,” Chrisoff said.

“Look whose talking mutt face,” Brad said.

“Victoria is everything okay up there?” mom said.

I got up. “Yeah, you don’t have to worry about me. I just…um” – I looked at Brad then at Chrisoff – “dropped something.”

“Okay, I’m going to go check up on grandma at the hospital and wish her a happy thanksgiving. I’ll be back shortly, see you later.”

“Okay.” After a few minutes she was gone. “First question, how did you guys get in here so fast? And second, how do you know each other’s secret form?” They looked at each other and Chrisoff said.

“The reason why we know each other’s forms is because both my and his ancestors hated each other for a long time, so they went to war and it hasn’t ended yet.

“In other words our families don’t like each other because he’s family are werewolves and mines are vampire,” Brad said. “And the reason why got in here so fast was that this…mutt climb in here and I flew in.”

Chrisoff looked at him as the word mutt came out of his mouth. Chrisoff raised his fist and swigged at Brad. Unbelievedly Brad caught Chrisoff’s hand and was about to do the same until I said.

“Hey, I told you guys to stop fighting! Please, try not to fight, at least when I’m around. Do you guys hear me?”

“…Yes,” they said.

“Good, I’ll see you guys tomorrow at school…as friends.” They nodded and looked at me. “Good night gentleman.” As they left out I smiled and went to bed.
