During the weekend I decided to go to the costume shop and get the white dress I saw in October. As I rode my black mountain bike to the shop and walked inside it was gone. As I ran up to one of the guy employees to see if they had any more of them and said.

“Excuse me, do you have any more white dresses.”

“I’m sorry miss but, the next shipment doesn’t come until the next two months,” the employee said.

“Crap…thanks.” This can’t be happening right now, that was the only thing that would have made my day. So I went home in disappointment.

By the time I got home there was a note on the door. It’s probably from mom.’ I thought. I read it and it said.

Dear Tori,

Meet me in the forest; I have a present for you for the dance.

Love, Brad

P.S. Come alone.

I reread the note over and over again until I had it memorized. I went inside, ran upstairs, got my jacket, and headed to the forest.

When I got to the forest there was a male figure standing there with a large flat box in his hands. I ran up to him and was about to poke him, when he turned around I stopped in my tracks. It wasn’t Brad. It was Chrisoff, smiling.

“Hey Tori, here’s your gift,” he said. I wanted to slap him and wipe that hypnotic smile of his clean off.

“Why are you here?” I asked.

“Can you at least open the present first?”

I walked over to him and lifted the lid off the box. As I looked inside my eyes widened and a small gasp came out of me. It was the dress I wanted at the costume shop. I put the lid back on the box and Chrisoff sat it down on the ground gently and said.

“Do you like it?”

“I love it, wait --”

“How did I know it was the dress you wanted? It’s because I work there. When I saw you looking at it I got it for you.” His arms lifted towards me and smiled. I walked up to him and hugged him lightly. When I looked up his deep blue eyes were staring into my brown eyes, just then Chrisoff held me tighter and pressed his lips onto mines, this time he made sure I wouldn’t pull away from him.

“…Tori,” a familiar voice said. “Why?” I turned around and saw Brad standing there broken hearted with a flower and a small black box in his hands.

I pushed out of Chrisoff’s hold. “Brad it’s not what it looks like, he--”

“Really because I can’t tell,” he said cutting me off. “Just…why Tori…I thought we had something.” he started crying “I even left you a note that I had something for you.”

“Yeah, you probably got her a class ring or something,” Chrisoff said.

Brad gave him a look.

“…Omigod, it is a class ring, I knew it.” I looked at Brad again and he dropped the items on the ground, and he charged at Chrisoff and threw a punch at him. Chrisoff looked at Brad and turned into his wolf like- self again but bigger, then Brad’s shirt ripped and revealed big, black wings and fangs appeared along with sharp cold red eyes. In a blink of an eye the two attacked. I watched as the two brawled in front of me and stood there horrified at the sight of blood coming out of both Chrisoff and Brad.

“STOP it!” I screamed. “Just STOP fighting” I fell to my knees and started to sob but, no tears came “You guys are breaking me apart with your god damn fights. My poor heart can’t take much more of this. I don’t want to lose neither of you. Without you guys I feel dead inside...and not the good kind” I looked up at them and they were back to their normal selves (sort of, Brad still had his wings out and Chrisoff was still hairy than usual).  Brad picked up his ripped shirt and wiped off some of the blood off of him. He then handed me the flower and the small box and said.

“I’m sorry, Tori.” He sat down next to me and wrapped his arms around me, ha even his wings “I’m sorry I didn’t believe you at first time. I will always keep you safe no matter what.” He kissed my cheek, got up, and flew away. Chrisoff picked up the box that had my dress in it and gave it to me and said.

“See you later Tori. Enjoy your present.” He then turned into his wolf-like self and ran off. I faced the sky, closed my eyes, and inhaled the fresh forest air. ‘So…this is what silence feels like.’ I thought. ‘Hmm, I like it.’
