Civil War ((Tony Stark x Reader))

You watched from your chair next to Natasha as Tony fought with Steve. You sighed. This had been happening more frequently... The fighting and the drama. You weren't a fan.

Steve huffed and left the room, and Tony sat down and rubbed his temples.

"Dammit, Rogers..." He grumbled to himself. You shifted your chair towards him, and rubbed circles on his back.

"I'm sorry, Tony." You said sympathetically. Tony turned to you and smiled. He kissed you on the nose.

"It's alright. It's not your fault." He told you, "But we need to be put in check. I can't take heat for what happened in Sokovia anymore."

You nodded, remembering the people who had died. You remembered how hard it was on Wanda, losing her brother.

"Either Rogers signs, or he retires." Rhodes said. You stated at the floor. These accords were ripping the Avengers, your family, apart.

"I just don't understand, Steve was my friend... Or, I thought he was..." Tony said sadly.

"Well, as of now, Rogers is against us." You said. Natasha cleared her throat.

"Not necessarily. Let me talk to him. I may be able to convince him." She said. You nodded.

"Tony, I know you hate being wrong, but I think that Steve may be right." You said. Tony looked at you.

"(Y/N), I know you want to believe that this isn't happening, but it is. Steve is no longer on the Avengers. He's gone freelance." Tony said. You sighed.

"Let's let Natasha talk to him, then we'll decide how serious this situation really is." You said. Tony nodded and ran a hand through his hair.

You waited until Natasha got back.

"Any luck with Rogers?" Tony asked. Natasha shook her head sadly.

"No. He's really set on not signing." She sighed. You folded your arms.

"So, what happens now?" You asked. Tony and Natasha exchanged looks.

"What happens now, is that we do everything we can to make sure Rogers doesn't step outta line." Tony said, "It's war, now."
