The Darkness Inside

I wake up. Oh god. Carter. The men. The bottles. I start hyperventilating.

"Shhhhhhh you're safe my sweet girl."

Jared? Oh thank god!

"He..he tri-"

"Grace you don't have to talk if you aren't ready. I love you."

He ruined those words. He said he done it because he loves me.

"Jared?"

"Yes my love?"

"Did..did he actually do it? Did he rape me?"

He had a sad look in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry. I don't know."

"Can we go to the hospital to find out? Please."

"Of course. Let me get my keys."

On the drive to the hospital I was quiet. I didn't say much.

We finally pull up to the hospital and I'm shaking uncontrollably. I'm so scared. 

I go sit in the seat while Jared explains to the nurse my situation. She looks at me sadly and she says,

"Come on back."

I go and there's a nice looking lady reading my chart. She frowns and asks Jared to leave.

"Grace, my name is Dr. Jennifer. I see your situation and there's a quick check I can run to see if your virginity remains intact. I'll need you to remove your pants and undergarments and lay on the table. This may feel uncomfortable, but it's the only way."

I feel her eyes wandering and she says,

"Grace. You'll be happy to hear that whoever it was didn't follow through, so you're still a virgin."

I'm so happy that I begin to cry. She leaves me to put on my clothes and I walk out to Jared and he sees that I'm crying. He's obviously thinking the worst.

"I'M GONNA KILL HIM I SWEAR TO GOD!"

"Jared, stop. He didn't do it."

"What? But you're crying!"

"I'm so happy he didn't take it."

"Me too Grace. Me too."

He picks me up and carries me out to the car.

We pull up at my driveway and we go up to my room. He puts on a Nirvana record. I'm sitting on my bed. I look at him and I can't take it.

"Jared kiss me."

"What?"

"I'll do it myself then."

I kiss him and we fall back on my bed. I can feel his soft hands running up my back. It's so passionate. His kiss makes my worries go away. I pull away, but only for a second.

"I'm so in love you with you Jared Hank."

And I continue to take in every second that our lips are intertwined. Our first kiss.
