Max's Point of View

"Y/N, she's in critical condition. She will live but there are several things that won't be the same." The nurse's lips formed, and sadly spoke out.

"What do you mean?" I asked rather impatiently.

"Well she is awake but her blood level is extremely low. You're lucky she isn't dead. We are working on trying to get more blood back in her system."

"Well if that's it can we see her?" I asked, my tone of voice getting softer and filled with even more worry.

"I wouldn't recommend it no. You see she was knocked out by we're guessing Chloroform, but that's not all. The attacker also knocked her head so badly it's caused amnesia.  We're hoping it's not permanent, but it might be. " When the nurse said this by heart sunk. All that was going through my head was that it couldn't be. My eyes went from the nurse to the floor in disbelief,  wide open from shock. My whole body felt as if it were numb and stiff. There must be some other explanation, way out, loophole, just something that could solve this or prove it was false. I couldn't handle it.

"What's the severity of the amnesia?" Adam questioned, hoping for a good answer. My eyes drew from the floor up to the nurse in hopes she somewhat remembered us. I felt a little hope in my core, as if it were a light in the foggy sea, searching for a lost boat.

"Y/N knows the basics, such as her name, how to talk, walk, eat, and all of the basics. She however has no memory of what happened or who anyone is. She doesn't have any memory of her past events. We don't know her background so we don't know what to tell her. Are any of you a childhood friend or know anything of her background?" Shock still lurked through my body, and nothing has ever felt this bad in my life. I was in shock, and felt as if I couldn't speak, but I broke through that little barrier, and raised my hand.

"I'm not a childhood friend, but she has told me all of her background, but it's not happy." I spoke, my voice octaves lower than normal, and soaked with grief. I felt momentarily as if nothing mattered, but shook myself out of that state of mind to see what the nurse would say.

"I see..." She hummed. " In that case than sir I would stay away from her past. Where is her family?" She asked, hoping for a loving parent or sibling to step out of the dark, and light the way for her new path in life.

"She has no family here. They all live far away, and they would not want to see Miss L/N." I responded in a tone as if I had no emotions. The nurse then nodded slightly, and sighed. She too felt sorry for Y/N as if she had known her before too. " How is Y/N acting?" I asked, in hopes she was at least somewhat okay.

"She is a very shy but happy girl. She is just asking where she is and what happened to her. We don't want to tell her what happened to her just yet, so we told her that she can't know just yet." The nurse said. At that moment everyone had tears in their eyes, and some were even falling from a few people. They just couldn't believe what was going on. How Y/N just entered our lives that day, but she has impacted all of us already.

"Would it..." I choked, but regained my composure," Would it help if one of us were to come in?" I asked, at least hoping to see her face.

"It might help her be a little happier and less confused if we did that mam." Ross said, wiping tears from his eyes.

"I was about to ask which one of you she knew or trusted the best. Who was she the closest to?" She asked, looking around the room.

"That would be me miss." I said, now hoping that meant I could see her.

"What's your name?"

"Max."

"Well then Max please get cleaned up and we'll escort you into her room." The nurse replied with a happier tone of voice, in hopes to cheer me up.

"Thank you." I said, trying to match her tone of voice. I went into the bathroom and looked at reflection. My face was red and stained  with tears. I shook my head at the sight of it and washed it off. Once I saw that I returned  to my natural skin tone and my face was washed of all tears, I came out, seeing the nurse waiting for me. We walked down countless hallways for a little bit, and then came to her room. Before I could enter the nurse stopped me.

"Now remember, she has no memory and will ask you who you are. Just be sure to be gentle with her and watch what you say."

"I will." And with those two words I entered into the room, not knowing what to expect.
