Chapter 18

Max's Point of View

After a while of Y/N petting Kitty Purry, I could tell she was getting really tired. While I showing her around the apart,net she starting to walk a little funnier and her motions were very fluid and almost rag doll like. I smiled as I saw she started to get a little wobbly and clumsier. "Hey do you want to head to bed? You look a little tired!" I laughed as I watched her shake her head and focus on what I was saying.

"Pssshhhhhhh naaaaahhhhhh...." She laughed as she was extending her speech. Her motions with her arms started to get outrageous. She normally talked with her arms but this was another thing. "I'm fiiiiinnnnneeee. I just shoulda hadda V8." She memed as she threw gang signs my way as she was throwing herself around. I couldn't help but burst out laughing at her adorableness. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder to guide her so she wouldn't fall and lead her to her room.

"C'mon. Let's go to your bed now. You need some sleep." I couldn't help but smile. She put her arm around my waist and continued to meme along as she leaned to me for balance. She already wasn't a steady walker but now she was practically drunk.

"Nah man. I don't crave that mineral. " she spat, clearly out off her rockers.

"Oh really?" I laughed. Funny how one of the only things she can remember is memes. Go figure.

"Yeah boi! You tryna slide into those DMs like mmmmmmmm" She yelled as she almost fell over letting go of me and sliding down the hall. She was really getting into this! As much fun as it was watching her though I had to end it to prevent her from hurting herself.  She looked deathly scared as she almost fell over, but then made direct eye contact with me with a serious face saying, "It was a ruse. "

"Uh huh sure! Let's get you to bed Pepe it's gonna be a long day tomorrow. " I smiled as I finally had enough and picked her up bridal style. She just accepted it and put her arms around my neck and rested her head on my neck and shoulder. I blushed at how cute she was and how great it felt being able to protect her. I rested my head against hers as I led us into her new room. I had Ross previously put pillows and blankets there so that it was comfortable for her.

As we approached her room I frowned as I realized I had to let her go. I threw back the sheets and set her down gently, pulling the sheets back over her and making sure she was comfortable. She instantly grabbed one of the pillows and hugged it close to her as I turned on a light.

"If you need me just shout for me. I'll be just across the hall okay?" I whispered to her gently, wanting to make sure she was okay. She frowned slightly and nodded. I was just about to ask what was wrong but she turned her frown into a smile, her eyes still glossy with a hint of sorrow.

"Okay.  Thanks buddy!" She smiled, obviously covering up something. I was about to go with it but couldn't stand it.

"What's wrong?" I worried, sitting down on the bed next to her.  She hesitated for a while, debating what to say, but gave into one side and complied. She sat up and let go of the pillow as she glanced to me with full worry and anxiousness in her eyes.

" I don't know. I just, I... I just can't sleep alone. It just freaks me out thinking about it. I just don't know what to do. I just, I feel like something beads gonna happen and no ones gonna be there and I'm going to be all alone and helpless and I...." she sped through worrying, talking lightning fast through her list of worries as she was cut off by me hugging her tightly.

"It's alright. Just calm down a little. Breathe in, and breathe out. I'm right here." I soothed, feeling her warm arms wrap around me. I could feel her shaking from anxiousness and worry, so I pulled away from the hug and grabbed her hands in reply. She looked up at me, eyes glossy and lips quavering. "Would it help if I got KP to sleep in here with you?" I suggested, knowing how deeply Y/N cared about her already. Her eyes lit up slightly in response as she nodded her head. I rubbed circles around the back of her hand with my thumbs and glanced down at our hands, only to look back up at her magnificent eyes.  Her eyes looked down at our hands for a while, staring at my thumbs as they calmed her shaking down. She looked back up to me and smiled a small but genuine smile.

"Thank you so much Max. " her soothing voice spoke as she squeezed my hands slightly. I broke our hand contact and pulled her in once more for a tight and safe hug.

"It's no trouble at all. " I whispered, holding the hug. I held it for around three minutes that felt like an eternity in my mind. I broke it apart, leaving my body feeling cold without her pressed against it. "I'll go get her real quick and be right back, okay?" I asked, getting a nod of approval from her. "Good. I'll be right back buddy. " I smiled as I slowly exited the room. I ran to go get KP from a little blanket pile and swiftly brought her back to Y/N. I set Kitty down right next to Y/N and they instantly cuddled together. They both looked up to me with gratefulness in their eyes and I smiled back in return. I quickly pulled Y/N in for a quick hug. "Goodnight Y/N."

"Goodnight Max." She hummed as she pulled me in tightly and then broke apart. My body instantly felt numb and tingly as mine was without hers, but I couldn't let it show. We smiled at each other and I left the room, slightly shutting the door to give her privacy, but not enough to where if anything happened I couldn't hear.

She is a lot of worry and trouble, but she's worth it.  And I'm not afraid to  admit that much.
