"No, what I'm saying is that you're going to have to meet my parents eventually." the female of the young, attractive, couple stated as the two strolled through the park together. "My sister absolutely loved you, so it's only a matter of time before you have to meet them..."

The male just sighed, hanging down his head as he walked beside his companion, arms around one another. He had dreaded having this conversation ever since it came to fruition that his new girlfriend actually had a family. "Yea... You see, what I'm nervous about is your dad... Knowing you, he's probably one of those ones who shouts over the phone 'How dare you take my little girl away from me!' I just can't handle that kind of stress anymore... My heart may give out."

"Oh Hideshi! You just quit your belly-aching! My father is a decent and understanding man!... It's my mother you have to watch out for..." the girl with sleek, blue hair tied back in a neat ponytail shot back to her tall boyfriend, whom she knew was just being mello-dramatic.

"I'm serious Botan, a guy at my age shouldn't have to worry about stuff like this anymore..." Hideshi replied, barely containing a sarcastic smirk.

"Romano, you're retired, not a senior-citizen... Besides, you've got nothing to worry about!"

Hideshi just kept on walking, sighing as he listened to Botan's reassurances over an over again.

"...You've got a great, standing carreer..." Botan carried on.

"I did, then I quit to work at Feng Poh's..." Hideshi said, reminiscent of his time as Spirit Detective.

"... Well you're handsome, smart, funny..." she continued to list off attractive traits of her boyfriend, almost counting them off on her fingers.

"Great in bed..." Hideshi added, wanting to contribute to this composite resume Botan was creating for him.

"...Well... We shouldn't tell them about that part... Then you would really see my parents flip out..."

"And we can avoid that altogether if we just don't meet..." he said to her as they passed by a man in a trench coat and sunglasses sitting on a bench, an old, black fedora hiding his face.

"Too bad Hideshi, I've already called and told them we'd meet then for dinner tomorrow night at their house." Botan looked up at Hideshi, winking at him slightly.

An expression I worry crossed the former Spirit Detective's face, before it subsided to a sly smile. "That sounds like something I'd pull... I'm so proud on becoming a bad influence on you..."

Botan returned his happy smile blissfully. "I love you too..." she said with a laugh.

"Hey now... I didn't say that!" he laughed a bit in his response.

"I know, but that's what you meant to say, wasn't it?"

"...Yea..." Hideshi admitted, his cheeks reddening a bit.

"You two are adorable..." a sarcastic voice groaned from behind the couple. Turning around, Botan and Hideshi saw the figure in the dark trenchcoat raise from the bench. He wore an all-too-familiar headband across his forehead, masking the incense burns which signified him as the King's son. It was Prince Koenma, hiding in plain sight.

"Oh great... You're here to interrupt our date..." Hideshi sighed, turning around to face the ruler of Spirit World, irritated by his presence.

"Don't worry Hideshi, I'm not here to give you or Botan a lecture. She made her choice clear to us, and now we already have a replacement Reaper to assist future detectives."

"Oh?" Botan became curious by Koenma's words, wondering who in Spirit Realm could possibly replace her. "Who did you hire for that?"

"...Your Sister, Piriku..." Koneoma informed them, a bit of sweat contracting on his brow as he informed them of Botan's successor with a large weight of embarrassment.
