Tears dripping

Feet Pounding

Heart thumping

Racing to be safe

Safe from the horrible twisted words

Spat by them

The ones who were supposed to protect you

To love you

Unconditionally

No strings attatched

But you can't run forever

And you can't run from yourself

So you take up a knife

And make the first slice

Eyes gleaming with tears

Blood like cherries

Splattering the floor

And the cool sweet release that comes with it

Slithering up your arms

Into your brain

Like a cooling wave of medication

To keep you sane

Until you need the next dose

But this medication

Is also a deadly virus

Poisoning your mind

Making you hate yourself

Making you want to die

And if you keep up the dosage

Amping it up along the way

You will

Someday

You'll end up on the tiles of a floor

Blood seeping-pouring from grinning-gaping wouds-gashes in your wrists

Eyes glassy-dull

Hair messy-perfect in death

Skin pale-cold-clammy-blue-gray

And you won't be able to hear the sirens

Just like they didn't hear your last breath-words

"I'm sorry"
