People come and go, sometimes with a goodbye and sometimes, without one. Emptiness would be like a friend, sticking with you till the end. No matter how long it has passed, that emptiness would still be there.

By the time we were back from the funeral, it was already 10.30pm. We haven't had our dinner and I was worried for Taerin. She hadn't had anything since afternoon as she said she didn't have any appetite.

"Babe, I will cook something for us. Go take a shower first, alright?" I broke the silence as I tucked a stray hair behind her ear. She nodded her head and forced a smile. I gave her a lingering peck on her forehead before she made her way towards our bedroom.

I exhaled a heavy breath as I walked into the kitchen, preparing the ingredients so I could cook her her favourite mac and cheese. That's the least I could do for her, right?

Without knowing what to do, my heart would hurt every single time whenever I watch her tears fall down her cheeks. I blame myself for not knowing how to help her when she is in such painful period of time because I love her so much, it hurts to see her suffer in pain.

"Thanks honey." She spoke ever so softly as she wrapped her arms around my waist from behind, her head resting sideways on my back

"I hope you feel better, baby." I rested my hands above hers, playing with her tiny fingers.

We ate our late dinner in almost complete silence since she seemed like she was not ready to talk. I could see how she had her feelings all piled up inside her, masking them up with a fake smile. She was acting strong, so I wouldn't be worried. That silly girl..

I went for my shower as quickly as I could because I didn't want my princess to be alone. I thought of ways to make her feel better like making sure she would wake up in my tight embrace every morning and to wipe her tears off whenever they slipped out of her beautiful pairs of eyes.

I dried my hair quickly and changed into a new set of clothes, dumping the old ones in the laundry basket, making a mental note to wash the clothes tomorrow.

I carefully slipped under the blankets, facing Taerin's side of the bed.

"You awake, baby?" I whispered, in case she had fallen asleep.

"Hmm?"  Taerin turned to face me, her eyes still wide open.

"Come here, my princess." I shifted closer and wrapped my arms around her, letting her cuddle against me. I heard her let out a sigh as she hugged me tighter.

"You know my ears are all open, don't bottle them up. I'm here for you, Taerin-ah.." I reached out and brushed her hair gently.

It was all silence then she started sniffling and her body shook silently as she sobbed harder.

"Baby.. it's alright, cry it all out.." I hugged her closer against my body as I brushed her hair.

"She's g-gone.. Mom is gone.. Jungkook, I don't know what to d-do.." She cried out as she snuggled against my chest.

"As long I'm here, I will protect you, you hear me? Mom will be looking out for you too, from above." I pull away a little to wipe away her tears. "So hush baby, everything is gonna be alright because I am here." I pecked on the crown of her head.

"You are so precious to me baby, it hurts to see you like this." Caressing her cheeks, I looked at her lovingly. "Stay strong for me, we will get through this together, I promise."

She nodded her head and snuggled back into my warm embrace.

"Today has been a long day and I just want you to know that I love you, my sunshine." I tapped her to sleep as I hummed to the song of Butterfly.

Her breathing steadied and she was soon sound asleep. I smiled at the sight of my angel sleeping peacefully as I closed my eyes, joining her in our wonderland.
