The grandma card was the last card that the boys could pull. Now that their plans seemed to not be working, they needed a better plan now. While Ivy and Bianca seemed to have understood the kids' initial plan, Jai and Siva weren't going to back down now. Their last resort was to call their grandmothers and hopefully maybe they would be able to knock some sense in Tom and Max's heads. That was certainly something that Ivy and Bianca wasn't looking forward to.
Jay was somewhat lucky as his grandmother was in the same house as him. He was quick to go cry his misery to his grandmother. Mrs. Parker had always liked Max and now that Ivy seemed to be taking up Max's place, even she looked a bit hesitant about it. And it was exactly that feeling with what Jay played. The woman quickly understood Jay's point of view and she realized that if Jay and Nathan didn't like Ivy then her taking up Max's place in Tom's life would bring no good to the family. That's how on Jay's request, Tom's mother found herself approaching his son with a much needed conversation due in place.
"You really think that Ivy is the one for you?" Tom's mum asked him once as they sat outside watching Nathan and Jay play while Ivy tried to act like she was having fun with the kids. "Does it matter? I thought Max was Mr. Right, look where it brought me." Tom said. "You believe that he cheated on you?" The woman asked. "He was in bed with her, I saw it. What do you want me to not believe in that?" Tom said. "Did he admit it? He confessed?" she asked. "Nah... He keeps saying he was drunk and he doesn't remember anything but..." Tom trailed off. "Did you give him a chance to explain?" Tom's mother asked, "A guy with whom you spent so many time with and you find yourself unable to give him a fair chance to explain himself. If I were him and I saw you living with someone else, even I would have moved on in life just to show it to you." Tom raised an eyebrow at his mother, her words making an effect on him somehow.
Unlike Jay, Siva had to smuggle downstairs in the mid of the night to give his grandma, Max's mother, a call. His cries on the phone had been so heartbreaking that the woman had hurried to get a flight and reach at his son's house by midday itself. Max had been really surprised to see his mother at the door at noon. But he was more surprised when the woman completely bypassed him to go straight to Siva and take the boy in a warm hug. "Hello to you too mum" Max mumbled as he watched Siva be smothered by kisses that he used to get.
Very quickly Mrs. George, Max's mother, learnt how unhappy her grandson was with the situation his Daddies were in. But she also how Bianca faked her happiness around the family. She could see that the woman was just there to take advantage of Max's fame and she also noticed the strong dislike Bianca had with Siva. Scooping her grandson up after she had heard Bianca shout at the boy in Max's absence, the woman whispered softly to Siva, "I can see why you don't like her."
Just like Tom's mother, Max's mother also did the same thing with Max, pulling her son in for a sit down. "Bianca left you once, what makes you so sure that she won't do so again?" Mrs. George asked her son. "Tom never left me before but he did now, right?" Max asked. "You ready to put your marriage and your two other kids away for her? Is she worth it?" Max's mother asked, "Wouldn't you give your husband one chance. Just explain to him what went wrong?" Max looked at his mother and sighed. If only that could happen.
But Bianca and Ivy seemed to have gotten an inkling as to where this was going and they also pulled their last card. "Now that your mother is here, I think we should get married." Bianca told Max and back at Tom's place, Ivy had the same idea.
Siva, Jay and Nathan could only hope that their grandma card had worked some effects on their Daddies because if not, they were going to lose their everything.
