His sons! Tom couldn’t really believe that he now had a complete family. A perfect husband and three lovely sons! That was Tom’s family. It had now been 2 years since Tom and Max had adopted Jay, Siva and Nathan. He couldn’t really describe in words how it felt to watch his sons grow up in front of him. His not so confident 8 year old Jay was now a ten year old brilliant boy at school. His 5 year old quiet Siva was still the quiet and sweet boy at 7 years but not with his parents. Siva had quite open up to Tom and Max. And finally his 2 year old Nathan had grown into an energetic and lively 4 year old kid. A family that Tom was proud with, along with his husband, Max!
*Tom’s office*
“Penny for your thoughts?” Kelsey asked as she walked in the office to find Tom lost in his thoughts. “Just thinking about the kids! Can you believe I have 3 kids? Really? Me?” Tom chuckled. “You look good with family, Boss” Kelsey laughed. Tom smiled. “Hey, when is the due date?” Tom asked Kelsey. “3 months” Kelsey said, rubbing a hand over her stomach. “So, your son, Joey is getting a brother or a sister?” Tom asked. “A sister! I want a complete family. A son and a daughter.” Kelsey said, “Bye Boss. See you later.” Kelsey said, leaving Tom to his thoughts.
A complete family! Tom hadn’t actually thought that a complete family meant having a son and a daughter. “No, my 3 sons are enough to complete my family.” Tom said to himself.
*George Parker House*
However much Tom tried to remove those thoughts from his mind but yet he couldn’t. He was pulled out of his thoughts from Max arriving at home with the kids. Tom smiled as he saw Siva and Nathan run to him. Tom scooped both of them in his arms. “How did my babies’ day go?” Tom asked them smiling at his kids. Tom chuckled as Nathan and Siva both went on a rant on how they spent their day at school. “Hi Jay Bird” Tom greeted his oldest with a kiss on the forehead chuckling at how Jay groaned and said “Dad, I’m not a kid anymore.” “But you’re still my baby boy” Tom pouted.
Tom turned to Max and frowned at Max’s worried face. Tom turned to Nathan and Siva, “Seev, Nath, put your bags in your room, freshen up and then it’s snack time” Tom said, watching the boys run up the stairs. “Jay, you too kid” Tom said. Finally when they were alone, Tom leaned in for a kiss from Max. “What’s wrong? Why are you upset?” Tom asked Max. “Nothing to be really worried about. I’m sure it will be sorted by tomorrow” Max sighed. “Come on tell me” Tom insisted.
“Tom, you remember my colleague Nick? He signed up as foster house. He was supposed to be getting a girl tomorrow but he left for another country last night itself. Now this girl, really doesn’t have a place to go. They are thinking about sending her to an orphanage. I really felt bad when I heard that. I mean, you remember how our kids were at the orphanage?” Max asked. Tom nodded. “How old is she?” Tom asked. “14 years old” Max said. “Max, you know I was thinking about this for a while. Our family would look so good if we had a daughter also, right?” Tom asked. “I thought so too but then our sons are enough for me. I really don’t know” Max sighed. “I know but we could really try for some time. I mean just until Nick returns.” Tom asked. “Tom, we don’t even know how the kids would react” Max said. “But we could talk to them.” Tom insisted. “You really want a daughter, right?” Max chuckled. Tom nodded and leaned in for another kiss when he heard the kids coming back.
Tom and Max thought a lot about taking the girl in and finally Max had to cave in and call the officials for the procedures of taking the girl. “She is coming tomorrow” Max told Tom after the phone call. “Really? Oh God, Max, we need to fix the house up and…” Tom trailed off. “We’ll do that in the morning. And first things to be done, we need to talk to the kids, tomorrow morning” Max said. Tom nodded, agreeing to what Max said. His kids would adjust with a sister, right?
The next morning itself, Tom had the house spotless and ready to welcome the girl. “Wow, you’re really excited, huh?” Max asked as he walked in to see Tom fixing the curtains. Tom nodded. “You talked to the kids?” Max asked Tom. “No, I thought we’ll do it together” Tom said. “Call them down.” Max said. Tom went up and called the kids down but sitting down with the kids, Tom felt really worried. “Kiddos, Papa’s friend has a girl, a daughter but Papa’s friend isn’t here for a month so the girl will have to stay with us.” Tom said. “We will be getting a sister?” Nathan asked. “If she likes it here and we also like her, then maybe she can be your sister” Tom said. “Is she a baby?” Jay asked. “No, she is elder than you. She is 14 years old” Tom said. “Cool” Jay said. Max said nothing, watching Jay and Nathan’s gleeful expressions but he didn’t miss how quiet Siva was. “Seev, you okay with a sister?” Max asked. Siva shrugged. Tom frowned but was happy that Siva hadn’t objected either. Max saw that and was about to assure Siva that the girl doesn’t have to stay here forever, if he doesn’t want her when suddenly the doorbell rang.
Tom and Max opened the door to find the social worker and the girl. “Come in” Tom said leading them inside. “Hey, what’s your name?” Tom asked the girl who was looking around the house. “Kyra” she whispered. Tom smiled. He was already liking the guy. Max smiled at them. “Kyra, would you be willing to stay here with us for a month? And if you like it here maybe we could adopt you” Tom said. “I do like it here already” Kyra said. Tom smiled at her. “Kyra, meet my 3 sons, Jay, he is 10 years old. Siva, here, is 7 and Nathan is 4.” Tom said, introducing them. “You adopted them, right?” Kyra asked. Both Siva and Max frowned at that comment and Nathan clung to Max. “Yeah” Tom said, “but they are our sons now” Tom said.
After some paper work, Kyra was left at the George Parker house. And Tom and Max showed her the guest room, leaving her to unpack.
Upstairs, Kyra had settled in the guest room and Jay was already following her around. Kyra really didn’t bother with the boys. She just needed a place to stay and Tom and Max were really rich. So, she knew she had to play nice with them. Jay didn’t look bad. He was the closest to her age so Kyra thought she’ll have no problem bonding with Jay and with how Jay was already following her, she won’t really have a problem with that. But she didn’t quite like Siva. Unlike Jay and Nathan, Siva’s skin was tanned and Kyra took a strong dislike towards him. As far as Nathan was concerned, Kyra thought she was too small and a big pest, so she maintained a distance with him.
“Thank you. For completing my family” Tom said, downstairs, hugging Max. Max hugged him but he couldn’t help but think is Kyra really needed to complete their family or is she going to be a trouble as she stays with them over the following days.
Behind them, Siva frowned looking at his Daddy and Papa. He had no idea why but he really didn’t like Kyra. As soon as Kyra had stepped in the house, Siva thought she was a big trouble for them. Will she be separating his family from him? Will she be breaking their lovely family?
