{EDITED}
It's been one month since I graduated. I promised myself that July first I would go to New York and get everything in order. A job and an apartment.
My mom comes in my room and looks at an old photo on my nightstand. She smiles swiping her thumb over the glass. I look at her tear filled eyes and set down the shirt I was folding.
"Mom, stop you'll make me cry." I remove the picture frame from her hands and hug her.
"I'm gonna miss you so much." She says rocking my back and forth. I pull away and wipe the stray tears.
"I will visit. Don't worry." I cradle her head in my hands.
"Okay, now I have to get to work but I'll be home early." She kisses my forehead and looks around my almost empty room.
"Bye." I whisper grabbing more clothes from my drawer.
"Hey babe." Daniel wraps his arms around my waist, kissing my neck.
"Stop I need to pack, and you need to leave." I push him lightly grabbing things from my closet.
He grabs them from my hands and sets them in my dresser. He grabs my hands and lays a kiss on my knuckles.
"Or I could stay and we could do other things." He kisses me.
"Nope we did other things the whole month." I mock him.
"But you're leaving and I'll miss you and..." He looks at me. "We never really talked about our future." He leads me to the bed wrapping his arms around me.
"I was scared. This has been the best month of my life and I don't wanna give it up so easily." I lean on his chest.
"Me either. I can't ask you to stay this is your dream."
"What about you? We're gonna be miles apart for four years." A pool of tears hide behind my eyes.
"Baby girl please don't cry." He wipes his tears away with his thumb.
"I haven't heard that name in a while. Why?" I say trying to change the topic.
"I thought that when I said it pushed you farther away from me, so I stopped." He says playing with the ends of my hair.
"Trust me it didn't it did quite the opposite."
"But I still have to pack." I run my hands through my hair getting out of the bed. I fold more clothes and put them in the suitcase. I grab a large jacket and hold it in my arms. It has Daniels scent.
"Keep that as a souvenir. And I'll keep this." He grabs a pair of my underwear.
"No." I reach up to grab only to have him snatch it back.
"Please or I'll take a bra." He shrugs.
"That's weird what if someone finds that." I whine.
"I'll say I smashed." I whack his chest and roll my eyes.

I finally finish packing. I close my drawers and closet before changing into my PJs.
"Can you take me to the airport tomorrow?" I ask zipping my bag.
"Of course." He pulls me into bed and draps the covers over us.
"What are we going to do?" I mumble into his T-shirt.
"I love you." He says.
"No, please answer the question." My voice cracks.
