Chapter One: The Wish
Today was my birthday, yay. After father left the house I ran downstairs and helped mum make cupcakes.
We just finished so mum put a candle in the cupcake closest to me.
"Make a wish. And quickly." Mum ordered.
I nodded mutely thinking of my wish. I blew out the candle and gave mum a fake smile, which I think she thought was real.
"What did you wish for?" Mum asked.
"You wouldn't like it." I argued.
"Savannah, what did you wish for." Mum ordered sternly.
"I wished I was a different person." I whispered.
She gasped, but I continued.
"Almost every kid has a loving dad who doesn't force them to sleep in a closet in a freezing garage. They don't abuse their wife and care about their kid! I hate him and want to be someone with a different life, where something right happens once in a while."
Good thing dad wasn't here.
"Like Harry Potter." Mum whispered.
I nodded silently,"But Hagrid or Dumbledore doesn't just pop in lives like mine."
I hugged mum and then ate my cupcake. We put them all away quickly and got dressed for the day. I heard a knock on the door.
"I'll get it." I told mum. I rushed to the door and was in for a big shock.
