Nothing On You

Chapter Twenty-four

"What do you mean you don't know where she is?" I ask almost grabbing Natalie by the shoulders, my jaw clenching, fIxing tightly with the rest of my skull. 

"Bruno, I don't know, where she is," She starts, tears welling in her eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I-" Her voice catches for a moment.

"Explain it to me," I seethe. "What did you do?"

"And that's how it happened?" I say in a half-assed tone. 

"We discussed the money, the timing and place. They just did what I told them...at first." I watch her still listening, waiting for a better answer.

"At first? At first what?" Phil asks, leaning forward, his face tightening at Natalie. 

"Spit it out, what did you do, huh, Natalie? Did you think two grown ass men were going to let you boss them around?" Devi mumbles under her breath, rolling her eyes. Cristina's facial expression doesn't change she simply watches. 

"I've already paid them $126,000 and I was planning on getting them the whole $250,00 when the time was up but they saw you on the news and found out about everything." 

"You don't even have $250,000, where did you even ge-" I cut myself off "Never mind, I don't even want to know."

"And then?" Cristina says, her gazed still fixed on Natalie. 

"Then...they saw when you on the news. They found out who she is and demanded that I pay them more but," she chokes up her voice getting softer.

"You don't have it so they're keeping her until I come from her..." I pull off my beanie and run my hand through my hair. How am I going to do this? "Ho-how much do they want? How much?

"One million."

 "Are you sure you can trust her? You remember what she did before, the amount of money the costed. For all you know she could be lying."

"Yeah but Tyler, what if she's not? What if she's telling the truth?" I ask looking at him. Our eyes meet then he continues putting papers back in his briefcase. 

"Where exactly are these people?"

"Natalie gave me an address," I say back handing Tyler a slip of paper. "Tim's been checking out the building that the address belongs to. He's going to try and trace the number that she has for them too." I pull my leather jacket and set my fedora on my head. I walk out and Tyler exits his office, turning back to lock the door. We walk out to the my driver's car and get inside. 

"Fill me in on any new information as soon as possible. Once that is taken care of, we'll worry about the money." Tyler says setting his briefcase down by his feet. "Be careful with this girl," he says precautionary tone. "She got you once, she's fully capable of doing it again.

As I walk in my door, Geronimo trots over his tail wagging slowly as he sits at me feet. I hang my coat, keys and hat before I squat down and give him a good rub. He sits still until I slip off my shoes, following me to straight for my bedroom. I change and climb into bed, Geronimo jumping up on the bed beside me. He pushes his head under my hand as he whines. I watch him, Yeah, G. We're getting close to finding her...We're going to find her. Just above G, Lani is curled up fast asleep on Iz's pillow, sleeping soundlessly, he little chest rising and falling. Her nostrils flare as she inhales curling up further. She misses her too.

Author's Note

Sorry for making this chapter so short guys, I was actually planning on posting two chapters this week but I couldn't get around to wrting the second one because of basically...college. So much homework...= No Time To Write. I'm sorry! 

NOY is coming to an end though, only a few more chapters to go Hoolies!!
