She was kissing up my thigh, her wet lips leaving a trail of hot kisses where they touched. With her free hand she cupped my breast, squeezing hard. She knew exactly what I liked and how I liked it. She knew how to drive me insane without even having to go all the way. My brain was a fuzz of nothings; all coherent thought was clouded by the pleasure I felt when her tongue finally reached the place that had been craving her attention. My mouth opened, I mumbled something, something between a moan and a plea.
It was everywhere. I felt every single part of my body on fire. It was pure euphoria... when suddenly, it all stopped. Confused, I opened my eyes, looked down at her with what I figured was an annoyed expression.
"Why'd you stop?" I asked, watching her half-naked body as she got off the sofa and looked around for her clothes, I guess. She seemed pretty pissed off.
"Who the fuck is Karina?" She was holding a white shirt as she stared down at me.
I frowned, "Who?"
"You moaned her name." Her eyes were accusing, her posture guarded. She was expecting an explanation, and I didn't really have one.
I grabbed the shorts she had just stripped me of not long ago and I put them on, searching for an excuse. It wasn't like I didn't know a Karina, and it wasn't like I hadn't been involved with her either, because I was... but I genuinely didn't remember moaning out her name.
I stared at her, confused still. "Are you... sure?" judging by how her facial expression completely soured up, I guess that was not the answer she was hoping for.
Katia put on her shirt, mumbling something about how I'm unbelievable and tried to walk away from me. I stood up, wanting to chase after her but I was still a little drunk and my mind wasn't in the right place so I stumbled across the living room.
"It's not like that—" Of course it was like that and she knew it but I didn't want her to leave mad at me. Katia turned around, her shirt half opened and that bra made her breasts look... fuck.
"It's always the same thing with you, isn't it? It's never going to change."
I cleared my throat, shaking my head. It wasn't that Katia and I were in a relationship, we weren't and we both knew this; we agreed on this. Sometimes, though, I think she forgot that and more often than not, she'd expect something more from me, something that we both knew I couldn't give her.
I took a step forward, so we were closer. My brain was slower than usual. "I don't—" I don't remember moaning out someone else's name wasn't the right thing to say, so I sighed, dropped my shoulders, and accepted defeat... "I'm sorry, I— I don't know what to say."
Katia shook her head looking down at nothing, avoiding my stare. She crossed her arms and bit her lower lip, the white in her eyes becoming redder by the second. I took another step forward and I tried to grab her hands but she was not having it.
"How much longer are we going to keep doing this, Liv?" Her voice was soft and unlike herself. Katia was usually rough, resilient, not easily hurt but the woman standing before me was close to breaking, I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me feel guilty.
I swallowed hard and tried again to grab hold of her hand, this time around, she didn't move away. Her eyes focused on our hands; our fingers intertwined as I searched around my brain for something to say. When nothing popped up, she took the lead.
"We've been friends since we were kids, Liv, and we've been doing this since we were teens," Katia shakes her head slightly, her black hair falling down her face. "We break up and then we make up. Some days I think when you come back, it's going to be different. That we're going to actually get somewhere and then we go back to... this and I don't know how long I can keep doing it..."
