Chapter 6

Reva's POV

Waking up with a start I began to look for the children since the house was so quiet. After searching everywhere, I remembered that they had gone to the park with Honey. Sighing in relief,I walked into the kitchen to prepare dinner before they came back. Just as I was turning out the food from the pot,the kids ran into the kitchen shouting.
"Moma,Moma !!"Ivan said "We saw a dog today, he was so cute...Can I have one Moma? He said
"Hmm,I don't know,I'll think about it."
"Yayy." He said before going to the parlour.
"Moma?" Ivy said
"Yes dear"
"What we going to eat for dinner?" She asked.
"You hungry hun?"I asked. She nodded.
"Well we'll be eating lasagna and then pudding as dessert if you behave." I said." Why don't you get your brother and go wash your hands then come down let's have dinner." Once I was done talking, she ran towards the parlour shouting her brothers name. I started setting the table before Honey came into the dining room.
"Rev,you need any help?" She asked.
"Nahh,I'm OK, I'm almost done anyway"
"Aii"She said as she sat down watching me set the table."Reva,I heard that Kyla was coming back here" she said
"Yea,that's nice,I missed my other best friend." I said
"Yea,me too so I was wondering if we could all go out and before you say anything Matt's gonna watch the kids"
"Well, in that case, I guess we can do that"
"Yea." I stood up from where she was seating and went to call the kids. I wondered what my life would have been like if I hadn't had them. I couldn't trade them for anything.
"Kids,its time for dinner come one let's go." I called them following them as they ran to the dinning table. When they got there and they were seated Reva turned to the children,"Kids, who's gonna say grace?" I asked
"It's my turn."Ivan said "Ivy said it yesterday"
"OK Ivan, you can say it." When they had all joined hands for the prayer Ivan started
"Dear God, thank you for the food you've given us and we pray that you give us more. We also pray that daddy will be able to join us to eat one day, Amen." As he prayed, I choked on my own spit. I didn't expect him to include his father in his prayer. I wasn't ready for the questions yet. We ate in peace,sharing light conversations about our day. When we were done I sent the kids to the parlour while I packed some food for Honey's husband Matt and cleaned out the plates.
"Thanks Rev,for dinner" said Honey as she was leaving with her kids.
"Anytime,I'll see you later Hon."
"Yea,bye." I said closing the door. When I got to the parlour, I walked into my children sleeping all huddled up together. I carried them into their room and tucked them into bed. I didn't leave until after kissing them on their forehead. Leaving their room,I went straight to the shower thinking of the kids father who he was and where he was.
