When Monday rolled around I was ready to continue with my normal routine. English and History passed quickly, it wasn’t until we went outside that my mood dampened. It was snowing.

“Wow! It’s snowing!” Max said looking up excitedly at the sky.

“Ew.” I remarked looking up at the sky.

“You don’t like snow?” Max says looking at me shocked.

“No. It means it’s too cold for rain.” I looked up at the large clumps of snow falling from the sky. Why couldn’t it come down a little more pretty like in small unique flakes or something? These just looked like large blobs.

Just then Tom lobs a snowball at Max hitting him in the side of his face. Max turns to Tom sending a glare then he turns to me sending a pleading look.

“I’ll see you inside okay?” Max gratefully smiles at me and quickly turns to hit Tom with a snowball of his own. As soon as people start throwing wet stuff I go inside.

When they are all finally finished throwing snowballs we all make our way to the cafeteria together. As we make our way towards the food line I glance over to the Cullen table out of habit.

What I see there makes me freeze in my place. There are five people there instead of the normal four.

Perrie pulled on my arm interrupting my staring at the Cullen table.

“Harry what do you want?”

I looked down. I had no need to feel self-conscious. I hadn’t done anything wrong.

“What’s wrong with Harry?” Eleanor asked Perrie.

“Nothing.” I answered. “I’ll just get a soda today.” I quickly caught up to the end of the line hoping they would drop it. Perrie being Perrie though didn’t.

“Aren't you hungry though?”

“Actually I'm feeling a little sick.” I kept my eyes on the floor hoping they all would hurry up and finish buying their food so I could go sit down and hopefully disappear.

Perrie kept asking if I was feeling okay to which I kept replying I was fine. It was getting annoying but I did consider perhaps going home sick. But I shouldn’t. I hadn’t done anything wrong so I shouldn’t have to run away. I don’t know why I was feeling like this, I wanted nothing more than to go home, curl up, and watch Love Actually since that always seemed to calm me down.

All the way through lunch I kept my head down but I occasionally glanced up through my lashes to see if any of them were looking my way. None of them were so I lifted my head a little more to better see what they were doing.

They all were laughing. Louis, Josh, and Liam all had snow lingering in their hair. Zayn and Niall were leaning away as Liam was shaking the snow out of his hair towards them. They looked as if they were enjoying the snowy day like everyone else. But there was something about them that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, something that made them look different. I turned my attention to Louis. He was less pale and the bags under his eyes were less noticeable but there was something more. Something that I had to figure out.

“Harry, what are you staring at?” Perrie said intruding my thoughts.

At that moment Louis’ eyes looked over to meet mine.

I quickly dropped my stare and let my curls hang over my eyes. When he looked at me this time he wasn’t hostile or angry like the last time but curious and unsatisfied.

“Louis Cullen is staring at you!” Tom said.

“He doesn’t look angry does he?”

“No.” Tom replies clearly confused. “Why should he be?”

“I don’t think he likes me.” I confided. Still I feel really nervous and I keep my head down.

“The Cullens don’t like anybody… Well they don’t notice anybody enough to like them.” Perrie remarks a slight venom in her voice. “He’s still staring at you.”

“Stop looking at him!” I hissed and Perrie just snickered.

For the rest of the hour I kept my eyes on the table too nervous to see what was awaiting me if I looked up.

When the bell rang I hightailed out of the cafeteria and on towards gym. I was glad that I had a class to clear my head of thoughts of Louis… However that didn’t work. I spent most of the period too consumed with him that I bumped into quite a few people because I was not paying attention in doge ball.

When Gym was finished I all but ran into the change room to change and get to Biology early. I didn’t want to have to make eye contact with Louis as I was making my way to my seat. I quickly found my seat and waited with my eyes trained on the desk.

“Hello.” Said a quiet musical voice.

I looked up stunned that he was actually talking to me. Louis was sitting as far away from me as the desk allowed but at least he had his chair angled towards me.

“My name in Louis Cullen,” he continued. “I didn’t have a chance to introduce myself last week but you must be Harry Styles.”

I was so confused. I gave him a slight nod before passing him a slide.

“Interphase.” I passed him the microscope before he could ask for it knowing that I would get lost in his features if I had to look up at him. He took a quick peak before he wrote it down. We finished quickly which left me nothing to do but awkwardly stare down at the table.

“Did you get contacts?” I blurted out, trying to break the silence.

“No.” Louis said puzzled by my question.

“Oh. I could have sworn your eyes are a different color than the last time I saw you.”

Louis just shrugged and looked away, but I couldn’t help but ponder the color of his eyes. There was something different. The last time I saw him his eyes were black and colorless but now they were almost gold. I just chalked it up to me going insane in this small town.

I looked down only to see his fists were clenched.
