Can anything be worse?

I was awoken by my loud alarm which startled me from my deep slumber.

She’s not afraid of all the attention,

She’s not afraid of running wild,

But how come she’s so afraid of falling,

In lo-o-o-ove

Yes. I like One Direction. Sometimes cheesy pop is needed in life to brighten it up.

Begrudgingly, I went into the bathroom and started brushing my teeth when I heard my sister singing.

I will go to the last round,

I’ll be your strength to find your way when you get lost in the crowd,

So I’ll, I’ll stand up tall,

And if by chance I fall,

Then I’ll go down as a Casualty of Love.

“Wow! That really was amazing,” I heard my mother squeal.

As I walked down our stairs I found Mum, Dad and Clarice sitting while Charlotte stood and slaughtered Jessie J.

“Yeah I know,” Charlotte stated smugly. “Well actually I have been writing a song lately and I want you to hear it,”

My heart stopped in my chest as I saw her produce my beaten-up notebook that had all my song lyrics and notes.

Photographs scattered around,

Reminiscing down the path of us,

Laughing as we look at us in pigtails,

Faces Painted with smiles as happy as could be,

Videos of us singing to a Kidz Bopz song,

Dancing round the garden with wings on,

Remember when we made mud pies,

Remember when you said,

That Angels were the stars,

That shone down over your head,

All those stupid silly things,

That we laugh about now,

Let’s forget about what’s happening here,

Just see if you remember when,

Ooh, Oh ,Ohh, Oooh

Can you remember when

I ran up to Charlotte and grabbed the songbook out of her hand.

“What do you think that you’re doing!” My mother stood up, faced filled with confusion.

“That was my song! I started it a couple weeks back!” I protested as she shook her head and let out a laugh.

“Don’t be so ridiculous! We even saw her perform it on YouTube! She showed us her video’s! I bet you know who MyMusic is! That’s your sister,”

I stood dumbfounded. How had she found out about MyMusic being me?

“MyMusic isn’t Charlotte! She sounds nothing like her!” I argued.

“I know I sound a lot better in person but the acoustics are not good in my room. Especially not near my piano,”

“You are just jealous aren’t you, Evangeline? Charlotte wrote that song and you just have to let whatever grudge you have go,” My mother scolded me sternly as she turned to look back at Charlotte.

“Also I’ve got some more news. I’ve had an opportunity to sign with Disc Music Production! I’m going down to London at the weekend!” She and my mother squealed as my mouth grew further agape.

“Oh and on that line, I have something else to tell you, Evangeline.”

I stared over at her as she practically braced herself for whatever 'news she was about to tell me.

“Well, Evangeline I‘ve put you into Green Fields University to study English Literature. Since Charlotte is too going to London I believe that the Record Company is close to the uni?”

Charlotte nodded her head in conformation.

“Well, I’ll buy an apartment for you to share and you can both go down this weekend!” She looked ecstatic at the thought that both of her daughters would be living together though I couldn’t think of anything else.

Charlotte was living now what I should be. She had somehow found out about MyMusic and then hacked my account and accepted the offer in her name instead of mine. I cared too much about my name not being released and being judged to take the offer but Charlotte couldn’t sing at all and it would pain me seeing her every day.

I simply walked upstairs and phoned up Kirsty and told her that I was leaving and then she began talking about MyMusic’s newest cover song. I smiled to myself; contributing little to the conversation thinking if she only knew.

Wherever you are just always remember,

That you got a home for now and forever,

And if you get low just call me whenever,

This is my Oath to you,

My mothers shrill call interrupted Cher’s song.

“I’ve found an apartment available! It was £800,000 and also an old friend of mine, You are all set to go!”

Looking at the pictures she showed us it looked beautiful – it was a penthouse suite complete with living area, kitchen area, dining area, 3 bedrooms and a spare empty room.

“Mum, what’s going in the empty room?” I questioned

“Well, I thought that that could be Charlotte’s music room. We were thinking about getting her a new piano anyway,”

I was again crestfallen. Charlotte was now the golden child – the best that ever lived! It was very tired of her act too.

“Ok” I replied quietly and walked away and hit shuffle on my songs.

So keep on walking,

Cause I’m not here to make you feel good,

To dry up your tears and apologise for you,

I feel so much better no you’re not around,

So keep on walking on,
