I was awoken the next day by my phone vibrating on my bedside cabinet. I groaned and crawled out of my quilt-cocoon to answer whoever had woken me up and trust me I wasn’t happy about that.
“What,” I rudely answered while yawning and rubbing my eyes.
“GUESS WHAT DAY IT IS!” I heard a voice yell down the phone.
“Who is this?” I asked
“Abi! Gosh you’re really not a morning person,”
“Never,” I sarcastically replied.
“IT’S OUR FIRST GIG!” she screamed ecstatically.
“Well don’t deafen anyone or we won’t be able to play,”
“Come down to the university music room for practice then we can go to May’s,” Abi instructed and I said bye.
Quickly, I got ready and raced out of my room to find Charlotte in the bathroom throwing up in the toilet.
“Are you okay?” I asked as I neared her.
“Yeah. Just morning sickness,”
“Do you need me to stay with you?”
“No. Ken’s coming over,”
“So you and Ken, how’s it going?” I inquire
“Well. He’s dead sweet and kind,” Charlotte says dreamily getting up from her slumped position over the toilet.
“He seems a lot nicer that Evan,”
“I know. Ooh I need you to write me another song,”
“Charlotte I’m busy. I need to help the others with the band practice this morning and then they are performing tonight,”
“But I need one by tomorrow,” She stomped like a three year old.
“Charlotte try writing one today. When Ken’s gone. I’m sure it will be amazing.” I assure her as I walk out and jump onto my bike.
Yes a bike.
I realised that I needed some means of transport because when Charlotte goes to work on Monday and I do too, I can’t use her car. Unfortunately, Mum and Dad weren’t exactly happy about me being expelled and wouldn’t lend me any money. So I had to scrap together the little I had and buy a bike.
I loved riding the bike though. I didn’t have to wait in lines of traffic all the time and I loved the wind rushing through my hair while I speed round corners.
“EVE!!!!!” I heard someone shout and then felt strong arms wrapped around my waist and I knew it was Josh.
“I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever,” I said and leaned in for a kiss.
“NO PDA PEOPLE! WE HAVE WORK TO DO!” Abi came up to us and ripped us apart then dragged us off to the music room.
“Right,” Abi let go of us and we sat down.
“Where’s Tamara?” I questioned
“We kicked her out,” Josh told me and I was the furthest thing away from happy.
“Why?”
“She was a bitch to you and well she had nothing on anyone. Needless to say she stormed out saying ‘she would have revenge’,” Abi said and Scott and Erin laughed.
“Why are you laughing?” I asked fairly angry that they were finding the situation funny.
“We kicked her out a week ago and she hasn’t done anything bad yet. Tamara usually does something bad while she’s still angry,” Scott informed me, while Erin glared at me oddly.
