Confused

My phone rang out and we pulled apart. I ignored my phone and was in a state of shock. What? What? What? What? What? WHAT?

“Err… emm… you gonna get that?” Josh awkwardly said.

I blushed and reached into my pocket to find Charlotte calling me.

“Hello?” I said.

“Right I need your help!!! Date again tonight with Evan!”

“Really? He must like you to take you out 2 nights in a row!”

“Well, it’s only because his friend called up and said that she couldn’t go to this football match so he asked me,”

“Wait, when you have been going out with Evan have they actually been dates?”

“Well, not precisely. But he acts like we are on a date when we are there so… basically yes!”

“Fine, be there in 10,”

I hung up and grabbed my coat.

“Sister needs help getting ready for a date,” I said to Josh.

“But isn’t your sister a bitch?”

“Yeah, but she has reasons why and if this thing works out, she will hopefully go back to normal,”

“Okay I suppose I’ll see you tomorrow,”

“Bye,” I called out to him and was glad to get out of the apartment. I needed air after what had happened.

Josh was my first kiss.

Hard to believe I know, a 19 year old that has never had a boyfriend while my sister was never without one. It was odd though, because me and my sister were not identical but mirror though we did look alike same face shape, eye colour and skin colour and same natural hair – but I was more of a joker that the boys would laugh with rather than go out with.

I turned on my music and pressed shuffle. I prayed that a lovey-dovey song wouldn’t come on because that is the last thing that I needed.

Where have you been all my life

Where have you been all my life?

Where have you been?

I groaned and pressed next.

Truly Madly Deeply I am,

Foolishly completely falling,

I gave up and walked back to mine in total silence.

“Help me!” I heard as soon as I had shut the door.

“Coming” I called and ran into Charlotte’s room.

“Right, you want a casual look maybe jeans and that top?” I held up a pair of skinny jeans and a crop top with the number 27 on the front. It was in the style of an American football jersey so it was sporty.

“Yeah, I was thinking converse?” Charlotte held up her high heeled converse trainers and I nodded. They were girly but still had a sporty look due to the wedge heel being inside and unrecognisable from the outside.

The next hour contained of make-up and outfits and everything else.

“Are you sure?” She asked for the 40th time.

“Yes you look amazing,”

She flashed me a smile and looked in the mirror.

“You really like him don’t you,”

“Yeah. I know that I have only known him for 2 days but we have spent a lot of time together. I know that it will not be for a while if we ever do get into a relationship but yes. I really do. I haven’t liked anyone this much since Dan,”

I hugged her and waved to her while she grabbed her purse and walked out of the apartments.

I decided to order some takeaway, eat Ben & Jerry’s and watch soppy rom-coms. I’m not sure why it wasn’t like I was needing comfort food. I mean, when Josh and I kissed it didn’t mean anything….. Did it?

I debated this for a while before the doorbell rang and I got my food. After eating the best meal in the world, I searched all of the tv channels for a film to watch.

I groaned when I saw that the only film that was on was 'Groundhog Day'. I turned off the television and walked into the forbidden room.

The piano stood gleaming in the corner practically shouting at me to play it right now. I sat down in the comfortable seat and let my fingers trace the keys. I struck  a chord and got lost in music.

Black and Blue,

Numb with love,

Blinded  by the light,

Never saw what you are,

‘Cause I was the mug,

The one who believed,

Every piece of everything,

That fell from you mouth,

But that’s okay now,

It hurts but time will heal me,

Find some one who won’t just,

Cry wolf, cry wolf,

I stopped playing and yawned. I climbed into bed and snuggled under my quilt and dreamt of Josh and I.
