The next day, I was awoken by my alarm at half 8. Yes, half 8 on a Sunday – but I had to get some school supplies and get  to walk to the university as I didn’t know how long it would take to get there.

I already knew that driving would be out of the question, as Charlotte had to go to the record company. I sighed then got ready in a pair of comfy leggings and baggy jumper. Grabbing my brown bag and my purse, I headed out of the door and walked to WH Smiths.

I went in for a couple of pens, a pencil and 2 folders but also came out with 2 new books. I was a real bookworm – though never really enjoyed English. I sighed and walked out of the shop and began my journey to Green Fields University.

It’s a little bit funny,

This feeling inside,

I’m not one of those who can,

Easily hide,

As I listened to Elton Johns’ original, I was staring at my phone looking at the directions from Google Maps. This meant, that unfortunately, I wasn’t looking where I was going – coincidently crashing into a stranger

“Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry!” I stepped up picking my things from the ground and looked at the person that had become a crash wall for me.

It was a man about my age, dark hair but pale skin – then I saw a coffee cup in his hand and saw a huge stain on his shirt.

“Oh, your shirt! I’m ever so sorry! Honestly, I was just being stupid old me, clumsy.” I continued to babble to myself until I heard him reply.

“Hey, it’s fine. I’m Josh,” He assured me.

“I’m Eve. Sorry,” I replied.

“It’s cool. Anyway, wanna go and get a coffee? I mean I had one but….” He then gestured to his top, and I blushed in embarrassment.

“Ok, but I’m paying,” I agreed and he laughed.

We walked to a small café and ordered, and then I paid – to which was angry about and insisted to pay me back at some point. I shook my head and went to sit at a table.

“So, what were you doing?” He inquired.

“Walking to the uni,”

“Er, it is Sunday you know?”

“Oh, I’m new – wanted to check where it was and how long it took to get me there. Just moved in yesterday.”

“Cool. I’ve lived in London for a couple of years – but I lived in America for most of my life. I moved over here to go to the university similar to you I suppose?”

“Yeah. But that does explain the odd accent you have.”

“I know, hey what are you majoring in?”

“English Literature,” I groaned.

“I do Athletic. Don’t sound too happy about it, then why are you doing it?”

“Well, it’s a long story,”

“I think we have time,”

I grinned then told him everything – including that I was MyMusic. I don’t know why but it had felt like I had known him all my life; plus it felt good to get everything off my chest without being judged.

“Wow, some story. By the way, I think that MyMusic is really talented and that your sister is a bitch.”

“Ha, thanks,” I laughed.

“Well, I wouldn’t steal everything from my sibling if I were you.”

I smiled at him and he smiled back.

I had made my first friend.

“Wow”

Josh had demanded to walk me home, even when I said that there was no need.

We were outside and he looked amazed at the building.

I shyly smiled as he waved good bye to me and punched his number into my phone.

I walked upstairs to the apartment and threw my purchases into my room.

“Charlotte?” I yelled.

“What?” Her face came from her room as she looked for me.

“Girl Time! How was your date with Evan?” I asked as I dragged her to the sofa.

“Well, amazing. We went to this small diner that was really cute and he paid and everything. Then he took me to this Summer Festival and there was fireworks and we skated for a while then came back here! I have his number too!”

“Aww. Well, I meet a guy today! I was walking in town and bumped into this guy called Josh and we went to grab a coffee and he’s really nice! I got his number too!”

“Aww. By the way, would you cook dinner?”

“Ughh, fine!” I said and walked to the kitchen.

No matter how annoying, or horrible Charlotte was – she could be a really nice. I still hadn’t fully forgiven her for the whole MyMusic thing, but holding a grudge with her would be the worst thing to do. Anyway, I was in need of some girl time.

Ain’t ever looking back,

Coz right there where we stood,

Was holy ground,

I was humming along while stirring the pasta in the pan and dolloped two scoops onto the plates.

“Charlotte! Dinner!”

“Okay, coming,”

I sat on my bed, texting Josh. He was really sweet and I had already arranged to meet him at school, though he was 2 years older than me.

I grew tired and sat on my bed while writing in my notebook song lyrics.

I got this feeling,

We are gonna be good friends

Even though we just met,

On that street corner over there,

We accidently met,

But I don’t think it’s a mistake,

Think that it was just fate,

And I think we’ve got something here,

But what I don’t know,

Just yet.
