“Terrible singing, anyways we’re here!” Charlotte squealed.
I turned off the radio and began to step out of the car. The building in front of me was very modern – silver and black – and looked very posh. I sighed as I reached for one of my cases.
Entering the main lobby was like stepping into an alternate universe. It had a fountain in the centre and the chic atmosphere continued with the black and white striped wallpaper on a singular wall next to the main desk. People in expensive suits were bustling in and out and I suddenly felt out of place in the posh environment.
I wheeled my first case over to the main desk and inquire for our room key. After the short wait I called for Charlotte to come and help me with the rest of the cases.
I trudged up the stairs but saw no sign of Charlotte following me. I waited on the 2nd floor for her. And waited. And waited.
After around half an hour, I saw a man carrying what was unmistakably my sisters pink case. She followed him up and I stared at her.
“Ooh. Thanks, Evan. You must be really strong,”
Oh. So she was flirting. Evan was lapping it up like everyone else that I had seen. It was very cringy and awkward so I edged past them and collected the rest of my cases.
May I just say that I carried the rest of those cases up the stairs all by myself, as Charlotte stayed with Evan and continued to flirt. Ugh.

I had just finished getting my room sorted and now it was 2 o’clock. I had more than enough room to fit my stuff inside of it. One thing I was unhappy about is not being able to bring my piano ( for obvious reasons ). My Mother said that I could share with Charlotte – but Charlotte had already warned me not to touch it.
I decided that I would go out into town and look around.
I changed from my tracksuit into a pair of jeans, white top and plaid shirt then brushed out my hair.
I stared into the mirror, deep in thought. Surely I should create a new image for myself if I was starting out fresh. I began to think of ways and I came up with the simplest way to do that.
I grinned then grabbed my purse and headed out of the door calling bye to Charlotte.
I plugged my earphones into my ears as I walked to the main street.
I looked in my rearview mirror and,
It seemed to make a lot more sense,
Than what we have ahead of us,
Ahead of us,
Ariana Grande’s voice flooded my ears while I searched around.
Eventually, I came across 'Kellie’s Kuts' and walked inside as the bell rang out. A young woman that looked in her 20’s stepped out from behind the counter. She had short curly black hair and was wearing a black top and jeans – both having Kellies Kuts on them in script.
“Hi, welcome. I haven’t seen you around here before, whats your name? I’m Kellie the owner.” She finished with a cheery grin.
“Hi Kellie! I’m Eve. Just moved in the apartments on Jameson Street,”
“Ooh, they’re beatutiful,” she had a wistful look in her eyes.
“I know. When are you free next?” I enquired.
“Oh, should be in 1 hour or so. If you leave your phone number I could call you when I’m ready,”
“Yeah thanks. It is 077 586 222. See you later,” I left the small building and decided to wander into the nearest Starbucks.
