When she got out of the shower, Riley put on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, brushed out her dark hair, and put it up in a ponytail. She looked at herself in the mirror. The hot water had helped with the swelling of her eyes. She still looked extremely tired and felt as though she could sleep for a week. Riley opened her bathroom door and the smell of pizza hit her right away. Until she smelled it, she didn't realize how hungry she was.

Miles turned when he heard her enter the kitchen. He smiled at her. "I didn't know what you wanted, so I just got plain cheese. I hope you don't mind."

Riley smiled. "Cheese is my favorite." When she was getting plates and silverware, she could feel Miles's eyes on her. She turned around to see him looking up and down her legs. Riley suddenly became very self conscious. "Um...Here Miles." She handed him a plate and turned away from him.

They ate in silence. Riley was amazed how they didn't have to talk to be comfortable around each other. When they finished eating, She put all of the dishes in the sink, to exhausted to even think about doing dishes tonight. Riley was standing at the sink when she heard Miles's voice very close behind her. "Riley-" she turned around to come face to face with him. "I don't want you to have to stay here alone tonight. Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm not trying to start anything. I promise you."

Riley smiled. "Miles, I knew that you would ask me if you could stay. I want you to stay. Especially since my car is at the nursing home so I would have no way of getting to work tomorrow. I also don't really want to be here alone. I need someone to talk to and I don't want to call Mike while he's on vacation." Riley also didn't want to call Mike because she was still kind of upset with him for waiting until the day before to tell her that he was leaving for a week. In her opinion, that wasn't something that you should just drop on someone. "And don't worry, just because you make a move on me, doesn't mean I'm going to fall for you," Riley laughed at her own joke.

Miles smiled and stepped in, closing the space between them completely. He bent down and put his mouth right next to Riley's ear. He whispered "I think we both know that isn't true." Her knees began to shake so hard that she had to grab the counter for support.

Miles stepped back and smiled at her with a grin that was so cocky, she wanted to slap it off his sexy face. Riley crossed her arms and walked off towards the living room. "You can have the couch. Just let me get you some blankets and a pillow."

When she got into her bedroom, Riley jumped when she heard Miles's voice, not expecting him to follow her. "So this is what your bedroom looks like." He motioned to her black and white flower themed room.

"Ya. Why were you expecting something different?" She pulled some extra blankets out of her closet.

"Actually, I was expecting someone as edgy and dangerous as you to have a room that was more wild."

Riley laughed. "Me? Edgy and dangerous? More like emotional and unstable." She rolled her eyes and pulled a stack of blankets out of her closet. She turned around only to run straight into Miles.

He held his arms out like he was going to take the blankets from her but pulled her into his chest. "You are not emotional or unstable. You're so strong. The way you handle things and the way you deal with problems shows me that you're so strong. The way you treat people even when you're frusturated shows me that you are so sweet and so caring. When I look into your eyes I see so much pain and so much fear. But I also see so much hope. Now, I don't know what happened in your past. But I know that you will not let those events define your future." He stopped talking and just held her. Riley didn't move. She just wanted him to hug her. She was so exhausted and so upset, she just needed to be hugged and held.
