"Dani, please come out," I kick her door with the toe of my shoe, but it just rattles. I can hear her throwing crap around inside the room, but she doesn't answer me.
Sighing, I slide down the door to sit on the floor, my head in my hands.
*Two hours earlier*
"Please hold this," Dani says, and shoves her shoulder bag into my hands. I furrow my eyebrows as she begins walking forward. I watch as she walks right up to the set of lockers.
I can see her target, and I start foward, knowing there is no way this is going to end well. She's headed for a guy-I've seen him running around in his football uniform, but I don't know his name- and some girl.
And she looks pissed.
I make it over to her almost in time, but not quite. She wrenches the girl off the lockers and when the girl makes a face and starts to protest, I watch as Dani narrows her eyes and holds one hand up. The girl scuttles off down the hall, looking petrified.
She turns on one heel, and I'm frozen. Part of me wants to watch this go down, but the much bigger part of me knows this isn't going to be pretty.
"Dani, come on," I say and go to touch her arm, but she doesn't even acknowledge me. Her eyes are too focused on the boy leaning casually in front of the lockers.
"Hey, Freckles," He drawls, and for some reason I feel like punching him in the face.

And all my childhood dreams about Matt Swords came to a screeching halt and then plunged off a cliff.
He was practically kissing this girl, right after he'd kissed me.
The funny thing is, I'm not even sad. I think I expected this from him. So I'm not shocked, or surprised. No, I'm mad. I'm angry and I'm dissapointed, in myself. I can't believe I let him kiss me. I can't believe I liked that jerk of a human being for that long.
After Aaron takes my bag, I walk over to the girl and pry her off the lockers. I can tell she's about to start whining in that gross voice most peppy cheerleaders possess, so I narrow my eyes until they're slits and hold up a hand. And she leaves.
