"Come along," said the Rabbit, "We'll have much fun

"We'll have tea and cakes before the day's begun!

We don't pour our tea into cups, now, my dear

Instead we like pouring it in old Hatter's ear!"

He showed me this feat as Hatter's face grew red

It grew redder and redder til it was much like a barn or a shed

I suppressed a laugh, unladylike, that,

When I was suddenly smacked by the man in the hat!

"Oh, come now Alice, there's no need to be shy

If you thought that I was, I surely would die!"

He faked a convulsion and slumped in his chair

The mouse started laughing, along with the March Hare

"Oh come on, old Hatter, no need for dramatics,"

I chided, shaking my head like a spastic.

"Oh come on now Alice, you're simply no fun.

We must enjoy the party, the party's begun!"

He threw his teacup across the table at Hare

He dodged it and asked, "Ooh, how long's that been there?"

He threw back his saucer, a frisbee of sorts

It came so close it cut Hatter's hair short!

After an evening of laughing and singing

The time came to leave them, my heart stinging

"I don't want to leave you!" I told them, eyes wet.

"Now, Alice," They said. "There's no need to fret.

"Just keep your heart open, and you won't soon forget."

I bid them farewell and set off for the forest,

Going back to the place that makes me least nervous.

I sat in the tree and closed my tired eyes

"Goodbye wonderland. Hello real life."
