Written to a song by My Chemical Romance. I would tell you the title, but it gives it away. I'll just put a youtube link to the song right here:

"Hello?"
"Hey, G. I have some bad news." She sounded like she was crying. When she said that, I took my phone and layed down on my bed. She didn't call me G unless something was really wrong.
"What's going on? Are you ok?" I was really worried. She's my girlfriend. I have a right to this.
"No.... I'm not." No. No. if this is what I think it is, no.
"I'm coming over." I started to stand up. She had been visiting her parents for the last couple weeks.
"No, Gerard, No. Just let me-"
"No!" I said, angrily. "Sorry, Lindsey. I want to hear it in person."
"Okay." She said, her voice small. I hung up. I walked over to the closet and got out a jacket. I grabbed my keys, went downstairs, and left without turning off any lights or locking the door. i drove like a mad man, weaving through traffic and getting a lot of middle fingers and horn honks. When I finally got to her parent's place, she was standing outside. she was wearing all black, longsleeves and high-tops. When I got out of the car, she ran to me. I held her as she cried.
"Can we go inside now?" I asked gently. She looked up at me and nodded.
"Okay." Sniff."Okay."
I greeted her parents and then we went upstairs into her room. We sat on her plaid-covered bed.
"So what's the news?" She grabbed my hand and started shaking.
"I.... I have.."
"No. No, please." I moved her closer to me. "No. No no no no no."
She nodded sadly. "Cancer." She started sobbing. I cried with her.
"Why? Why?" I asked, to no one in particular. "You don't deserve this. Why can't it be someone else? Why not me?" She looked up at me and smiled through her tears.
"Because if it were you..." She laughed at herself. We layed down, not bothering to go under the covers. Her head on my chest. She fell asleep eventually, but I stayed up. I moved to turn off the light, and she sat up groggily. "Sorry. I didn't mean to wake you, Linds."
"It's okay." We got comfortable again. She sighed.
"You know, the hardest part of this is leaving you."
