*Last time on Kingdom Hearts-Book 1-Heartless*
Narrator: Romance was in the air between the two main protagonists Sora and (Y/n)!
You: Wait I thought I was suppose to do the recap!
Narrator:Well the author thought it was best to let me do it this time considering you wouldn't want to talk about...well...you know... (Pretends to clear his throat) Sora.
You: (blushes) There's nothing to talk about!
Narrator: Of course there is! The whole chapter was something out of a shojo manga.
You: Shojo manga?
Narrator: Manga made for girls. Usually has a lot of romance in it.
You: There's nothing going on between me and...him...
Narrator: See? Your so embarrassed, you can't even say his name. Also, who said, and I quote "maybe it wouldn't be so bad to fall in love."
You: Every female protagonist from an anime ever.
Narrator: True. But, you are now one of those female protagonists. How does it feel?
You:But Kingdom Hearts isn't an anime! It's a video game. We acknowledged that in the very first chapter!
Narrator: Yeah, well we have something most games don't....a manga series!! And every good anime is based off of a manga or light novel.
You: Otaku much?
Narrator: And proud of it!
(Now for the REAL recap)
You reunited with Sora after your encounter with Riku at a court session held by the queen of hearts herself. As you already know from the previous chapter before that, You and Alice have switched bodies. The cause of this is still unknown. Anyway, you talk to the infamous Cheshire Cat, who instructs you to find four pieces of evidence. Along the way, Sora asks you if you have feelings for him, however you explain you are not able to fall in love with the spiky haired hero. Because of this awkward moment between you two, for most of the quest, you two attempt to not communicate or make eye contact with one another. While this romantic subplot was taking place, Sora, Donald, Goofy and you were traveling around wonderland finding clue after clue. Later, once all the clues had been found, the group returned to the outdoor court room to testify. The misunderstanding between Sora and you was gone by the end of the chapter when Sora explains the reasons for his actions and that even if he was turned down, his feelings for you will never change. The court case began with the queen of hearts mixing up the evidence gathered and having you and Sora choose one at random. The one you chose, revealed the culprit of the attempted theft of the queen's heart to be a heartless. Despite this, the queen of hearts declared....
"Seize them at once!"
*Now, back to the show*
"Uh oh." Sora and I vocalized in sync as the card guards (I will use this clever word play, and you will like it!) charged at us.
"Sora! Donald! Goofy! Can you distract the cards?"
"Yeah," The brown haired male replied, as the cards swung at Sora and I with their weapons, "why?"
"I'm gonna free Alice. Maybe she has an idea of how to get our bodies back." I whispered. Sora nodded.
"Good luck." He gave me a thumbs up.
"Come on lover boy." Donald muttered, dragging Sora by the collar back into battle. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Right!" I raced over to the golden cage Alice (stuck in my body) was in. The queen started calling for help, since I was right under her court throne. The cards, however, were to preoccupied fighting Donald, Goofy and Sora to notice.
"Psst! Alice." I whispered. She peeked her head out from the cage and looked at me with wonder.
"Oh, it is you again." Alice said, holding onto the golden bars of her bird cage prison.
"Yeah. Sorry about dragging you into all of this."
"You dragged me? Did it hurt?"
"No, I mean...oh never mind." I began to mess with the lock on the cell, but it wouldn't open.
"It won't budge," I said. "and I can't break it without the keyblade."
"Do you have any idea of how we switched bodies like this?" I asked beginning to slowly bang my head on the cage. I was running dry on ideas.
"Not really. I remember drinking a potion that said 'drink me', so I drank it." I face-palmed. Who drinks something, just because it says to drink it?!
"She wouldn't survive in the real world." I thought to myself.
"Anyway, what happened after you drank the potion?"
"I fell asleep for a while. Next thing I knew, I was you." She pointed at me. That's basically what happened to me!
"Do you still have the potion?" I questioned.
"Of course. Although, it was the most vile thing of ever taste-." Alice looked over at me already drinking the rest of the potion. I figured if her drinking it is what got us in this mess, me drinking it would change it all back. Or make things even worse.
Flashes of light swirled around us, and I felt my eyes begin to drop. I fell into a light sleep for 10 seconds before immediately waking up again.
I looked around at my surroundings. I was still on the outside of the cage, but something felt different. Gazing down at my skin, I wasn't as pale as I was before in Alice's body. Me and Alice stared at each other for a moment, wondering if this was some sort of illusion. It wasn't, though.
I finally got my body back.
