It is a beautiful day. I bask in the warmth of the golden sun and in the fragrance of the morning dew. I just walked out into the sunshine and found myself staring at those loving eyes that mirror the same love, the same inner peace, the same happiness as hers.
"Good morning Love. Ready ka na ba?" - Richard
"Good morning. Kanina pa nga ako sobrang excited eh. Tara na." - Maine
We traversed the road hand in hand enjoying the sights of Italy. And somehow, every busy street becomes a flurry of souls either celebrating love or desperately searching for one. Every park becomes a witness to dreams built, and promises spoken. Every horizon becomes an emblem of a promising tomorrow, every day being able to spend with you. Ahh a city becomes more beautiful when seen through a pair of lovers' eyes.
"Ang ganda ganda talaga dito noh. Parang ayoko nang umuwi" - Maine
"Alam mo kung ano yung masaya? Yung mas lalong naguumapaw ang kahandahan dahil kasama kita." - Richard
"Ay grabe ka talaga sa akin. Patingin nga ng pagkakeso please....." - Maine
"I've been to many countries for shows pero nothing beats this dahil first trip natin ito together." -Richard
"Imagine, dati nasa Broadway lang tayo at pakalat kalat lang sa Barangay. Ngayon nasa Italy na! - Maine
"Oo nga sosyal na. Baka ngayon hindi na kita makuha sa isaw at hawhaw date." - Richard
"I'll always choose isaw and hawhaw over prosciutto and ravioli as long as it is shared with you Love" - Maine
He touched her face and leaned closer. And in the gentlest of touch, they are lost in their own little world, still in awe of how a split-screen stare made their hearts beat as one.
"Naisip mo bang hahantong tayo sa ganito?" - Richard
"Honestly, hinde. Crush na kita noon eh. Hindi ko naman akalain na magkakagusto ka sa isang simpleng katulad ko. Wala naman akong maipagmamalaki sayo. But you wiped my insecurities away. You always make me feel that I am worthy of being loved." - Maine
"And I promise to remind you that you are special and beautiful everyday for the rest of our lives." - Richard
"Eh ikaw. Inexpect mo bang lahat ito?" - Maine
"Hindi din. Marami na akong nakaloveteam sa industriya pero parang laging may kulang. But sabi nga sa tula ko sayo, ang magagandang bagay ay dumadating sa tamang panahon. And you came. And you filled up that emptiness in my life." - Richard"
"And I promise to be the better half that makes you whole everyday for the rest of our lives." - Maine
"So happy ka?" - Richard
"Sobra sobra. Since I gave you my first smile that day. I love you so much Richard. Ikaw?"
"Sobra sobra. Since I looked at you on the split screen that day. I love you so much Maine."
He kissed her on the forehead. He then kissed her on the nose. Then, he went for her lips. Their breaths mingled as he held her face and she naked her hands on his neck. Their tounges duelled for dominance as they explored each and every crevice on their sweet mouths. And immediately, I was lost. Lost in the sweetness as well as passion before me.
We are at our destination. There are so many people about sealing their promises of love. They are holding my hand as they kiss while my other hand held the railing beneath. It is a lifetime bond. I marvel at how that first stare and first smile evolved with the passage of time. And here I am, that symbol, that this journey defines.
It is another beautiful day. I still bask in the warmth of the golden sun and in the fragrance of the morning dew. I see them individually taking lots of selfies with their fans. But there is something in the way they stare from afar that only we understand. How they sealed their promise of love with our intertwined hands - Red Lockhart
